Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

Greetings folks, also popping in to trouble you folks. I am also looking at ordering from Gearbest, they have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon) going at $169.99 and I am hoping to confirm that it is indeed the correct version with the popular global rom support.

All Xiaomi phones can be flashed with global roms, most just need to be unlocked if its preloaded with China or Custom roms. As for the phone in question, the screenshots does say Support OTA updates and that it has the latest global Stable rom.

Only question I would have is what network you on and what does the phone support. Note 4 MTK and Note 4X support all the networks, not so sure about strait Note 4. Need someone else to help here.

Awesome thank you for the response. I am specifically after the dual sim as I am looking to house my spare Telkom(purely to use the spare airtime for calls) and MTN(for my 50gb data blackfriday special) sims

Just over 3h10m SOT and sitting at 68%.

Haven't changed anything, but so far the best battery life I've ever had.

So I dropped my phone today in the cinema. Thank God I was using the UAG cover I modified and not the Lenuo PU leather one. Not a scratch upon inspection.

So I bit the bullet and ordered 2. Black for me and gold for babe

Will post full cost a later. But just a heads up. Paying via PayPal Ups the total by about 4 to 5 percent in rand over the amount you would get on Google currency converter.

I'll pay that happily for the 60 day added insurance. Oh and all banks have an exhange rate that they pay vs the real rate. Bank not gonna do it for free.

Still gonna work out better than most options locally. Just a heads up.

guys,

im using the stock kernel and LOS 14.1, and getting just over a day of battery life with around 4/5 hours of SOT.
What are your guys stats like, esp those running Radon v4.5 kernel.

Average around 7.5 to 8 hrs screen on. But there's a lot of conditions that lead to these stats. Low display brightness, strong weak reception, GPS/Bluetooth on off, gaming, music streaming.

They all contribute to decreased battery life. But brightness is the biggest killer. Radon has been brilliant for me. But since the 7.1.2 switch I haven't been able to monitor stats as theres a bug with the battery stats readings on Nitrogen.

thats awesome, how much different is the stock rom to the radon? just trying to decide whether i should flash it or not, haven't had any major issues as yet.

I haven't really given stock Nitrogen kernel a fair shake if I'm honest. I'm going to do that on Friday. Will flash the latest rom will a full charge and see what I end up with over the weekend.

Hi Guys

I just received my replacement Redmi Note 3 from Incredible today. I noticed that the MIUI version is different from the WeChat deal phone I hadScreenshot_2017-05-03-21-57-28-999_com.android.settings.jpg.

The layout and themes I had before does not work on this rom.

So could you'll explain to me in a step by step guide how to change the rom to this Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm Global.

Thanks

From that screenshot you have an official Global ROM on already. See: http://en.miui.com/thread-392159-1-1.html on how to spot this.
Just an old one, current version is V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI vs your V8.0.8.0 LHOMIDG See http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#438

Easy way to update, just goto System Update and hit OTA, longer way just download your rom form the link above copy onto Phone under downloaded_rom folder and select use "Choose Update package" inside System Update app (3 dots top right) and navigate to the ROM on the phone.
