MultiChoice – getting more subscribers, making more money

They lost one yesterday.

K@k streaming software sometimes I wonder who those devs are, how do you pride yourself in that k@k built thing? Must be a bee baby with freelancer open next to him to outsource responsibilities.

Work as slow as you can possibly get away with, that way the project lasts longer. :p

Do those numbers include the rest of Africa?

Up here in Zambia, everyone who can afford it has a decoder. The monthly subs are more expensive than in SA and some guys here have asked me to buy and bring in decoders from SA as the monthly subs are cheaper.

Streaming is still pretty crap in this country as most times ADSL Internet is too crap even with a 10mb line to stream. Dstv is still the best in terms of less headache for content.

But how many have they lost to Netflix et al.? need a ratio of new TVs sold vs new DSTV accounts, growthwise. Would be interesting.

Everyone I know is either downgrading their multichoice or cancelling it.

I read somewhere that the premium numbers are declining as people are downgrading to compact, and also these numbers are for the whole continent not SA Operations.

And that is why they don't bother to decrease their prices, why should they? People still continue to pay.

Expect another increase in April 2017, I hope they increase it to R999 per month.
