Starting this to move some Mi Max specific details out of the Note 3 thread I've been derailing :)

Finally got mine after 99 Days of waiting from GeekBuying.
 
I love mine, bought it from Afrihost. They also give 1gb per month x 12.
Great battery life, lasts me two days on rather heavy usage. I am however struggling to find a cover, any help with this would be much appreciated.

Got a transparent cover with mine- it's pretty good.

Took 3 days for Xiaomi to approve the unlocking of my bootloader.

Anyway, I got that approval and have flashed TWRP and LineageOS 14.1 :D

Marginally faster than MIUI according to PC Mark, but it's got all the features and controls I was used to from my Oneplus One.

What did you need to unlock your bootloader for, if I may ask?
 
TWRP also on my Mi Mix and works great, very very easy to install another rom

I'm thinking I'll be able to cope.

I hardly make any calls. Basically use my phone like a small tablet as it is.

And this Mate 8 is already quite hefty...
 
Just dropped mine. Crack in (hopefully) the screen protector.

I have a Nilkin case and screen protector I should try.

Anyone have one yet? Did it come with a glass protector, and if so does it fit? Mine doesn't seem to fit well around the edges.

Will post pics of the included cover..

179USD + R350 (IIRC?) for customs and handling. I had to collect it from the Cape Mail Centre...

I'll leave the cracked glass protector on for this evening and replace it tomorrow, see if the Nilkin one fits better.
