So I got my invoice for the month and lo and behold, my bundled account has been increased from the 20 to 100gb. Now it's been in the news that they were phasing out the 20gb but that was only the stand alone capped accounts. When I enquired in March why my 20gb wasn't receiving the supposed free 100gb, I was told that bundled accounts were not part of the phase out and would not be changed. Now suddenly my bill has jumped and no notice given as I had previously said I would cancel and move as I did not need the extra data.

Why was no notice given? Are bundled account affected or not?

Thank you for posting this!
I went to go check now as well and found that my 10GB has been upped to 50GB (also bundled )!!

I do not want to pay R70 extra for a backup account!
What the hell, Afrihost?!

QFT!

I was told this does not change the bundled packages. Exactly the same predicament as you :/

Classic AH.

Bit of an amateur mistake...kinda predictable that this would not go down well

Afternoon Guys!

I'm following up with our Team now with regards to this query, I will let you know the moment I have an update.

So still no feedback on the query. If my account is debited on the 1st for the incorrect amount, I will reverse the debit order due to incorrect and non agreed unilateral changes.

Please Advise.

Note to others in this thread, Afrihost now claim mails were sent to bundled account holders but have agreed to reduce my bundled account to the 1gb. You will need to complain similar for a reduction in your package.

To Afrihost, really shocking service. First the no notice increase after prior confirmation of it not taking place and then blatant denial saying that customers were notified.

Seems stupid to alienate your customers with multiple services on their accounts with one bad decision but your choice, I'll be shifting the rest in the new month.

I also got the same reply -that an email was sent on March 30.

I have two accounts, with two different email addresses and I did not receive such an email on either address.

So, I will be canceling as well.

This is shocking and disappointing. Never expected this from Afrihost TBH.

* I'll wait for a reply from AfriPerson, in case they can sort it out. Otherwise, I'll be canceling.

(I wanted the 10GB as a backup account. So if the ISP I'm using had issues, I could use AH. This essentially meant that I would've been putting money in AH's pockets without any network usage. As small as the amount may have been, it's still "easy money.")

But yeah...who wants, essentially, "free money" in this day and age, huh? :-|

I went and checked... I received no such correspondence from Afrihost either.

Been told the query is being escalated but they ave shifted the account to 1Gb anyway so as not to be overbilled. Got plenty rollover so is fine for now.

Morning Guys!

All 20GB and 40GB Capped Bundles that were invoiced for 100GB will receive a credit for the difference between their original Bundles and the 100GB Capped Bundles.

That means that although you were invoiced for the 100GB Bundle you will only be charged for the original Bundle.

And what about the 10GB bundle that I had? :-/

This will be a once-off. Next month your bundle should already be back to what it was before we changed it :)

Ah ok, so basically our old bundles pre June will remain at their bandwidth and pricing going forward? Happy with that thankyou. I have popped a mail to support to reverse the downgrade to 1Gb.

Well done on resolving a contentious issue.
