Plex for Kodi – Free version launched

Best of both worlds really. Been using Plex on Kodi on raspberry pi3. Kodi only really there for the streaming plugins.
 
This is very cool and very annoying as well. Install Plex on Android, sorry you cannot watch your videos without buying the app. Install Kodi on Android, install Plex add-on, oh you can watch anything you want. Very clunky way to do it. And I paid for the Roku app back in the day, then they made it free later on. All other platforms are free as well except for Android as far as I know.

The idea is to be able to use Plex Media Server with a different client and to give you more choice.

It's only R50 as a once off, really not a big deal as these things go, to have the official client App.

Just use your browser?
 
On android? How do you connect to the plex server then? IP adress? I installed kodi and the addon on my phone and it works well, kodi is just a bit slow.

Port 32400 on the IP address of the server.
 
Thanks, can't believe I never thought about doing this. My phone does not want to connect even though it is on the same lan, but I will dig around a bit.
