Firefox Quantum – The fastest Firefox ever

Saw a YouTube clip on the Firefox channel comparing speed vs chrome. They even show tests where Chrome is faster and I actually had to make sure that I'm actually watching this on the firefox channel.

Actually cool of them even showing where they are slower.

I love Firefox, always have. I have Chrome installed as well, because I like some of the Chrome developer tools - but as my main browser Firefox is great

Will be goood as long is not pre-loading audio and video.

cool, I being using Firefox for years,, I never fell for that piece of spyware called chrome.

using firefox for years and it's been amazing. more speed oh ya

Firefox for the win.

Chrome is nice, but lacks functionality in certain areas, especially when it comes to addons. Does it still hog all the RAM I wonder?

Posting this using Quantum. I've been on it for today, and it's a huge change compared to Firefox 52 or even 56. Very nice!

I prefer Firefox mainly because of its great plugins.

Video Download Helper lets you quickly and easily with 1 click download Youtube videos - or any videos from any site, yes even from Pornhub. Of course Chrome does not support plugins that will allow you to download Youtube videos as Google is against that.

Firefox Quantum High CPU Usage

Lately my freshly installed Firefox Quantum (v57.0.2) has been showing very high CPU Usage (measured with MSI Afterburner) of almost 80% !! with only four tabs open. Only way to resolve this issue for now seems to be to switch back to an older version like 56 or use another browser like Chrome. Even check on their support forums doesn't offer any real solution to the problem of high CPU usage in Firefox Quantum. Check thread over here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1194330

Anyone else experiencing similar issues and possible fix for this?

What was your disk usage looking like? I had an issue where I had 100% disk usage on an SSD every now and then.

That was after an upgrade from 56 to 57. Solved it by uninstalling, and doing a clean install of 57.

Im using the Beta version now and its working nicely with regular updates. Think im on 58-something already.
