We would like the input of other forums users with regards to the structure of the motoring section as it stands currently.

I'm of the opinion that valid discussions are being drowned out by articles being posted on vehicles, vehicle models, launches and the likes. I'm suggesting we have a poll and determine if I'm alone in the need for the split between news articles and vehicle related discussions.

Mods please create a poll?

. Leave motoring section as is
. Have different subsection for either news or discussions

It probably doesn't bother me or many people because those articles are the things we go there for....but I can see your side of it. If a section of the forum I spend a lot of time posting in was constantly flooded with articles I'd also get a bit annoyed.

God for us all, every guluva for himself, let the people speak.

Could work

I honestly have zero issue with FiestaST posting his articles. I too enjoy them sometimes if one catches my fancy. It's more an issue with really good and relevant discussion being drowned out that I have an issue with. This is the only solution I could think of which doesn't impede on anyone.

I like Fiestas posts. That said, I support a split, or possibly an ability to filter active discussions and place them above “news” threads.

This suggestion will just complicate the forum with the already numerous sub forums - I believe some trimming occurred a while back - just to accommodate Fiesta and appease the detractors. Can't you all just tell him to trim back on his posts? And also if he's the only one interested in what he posts then the threads will demote down by themselves leaving everyone to enjoy whatever they find discussion worthy.

A cursory scan of the first page shows that a good mix of thread starters even though he has the most, but they don't look intrusive to me

I don't want him not to enjoy posting here. He really does like cars and so forth. I just feel it's impeding on other discussions.

This should appease everyone I suspect. Win/Win

Not now no. But he dumps about 30 posts a day mostly between 15:00 and 16:00. There are days that it happens and days it doesn't I suspect he has a real life too :D

Then he can post news in N&CA if they are current news and the rest here as relevant. I like some of his pic articles on various car launches

Most of the denizens don't seem to approve of his articles so a poll with a foregone outcome is a bit useless. The guy is on the forum, why not just engage with him about no dumping

It's not a dictatorship. I don't want him to post less or even nothing. I just want all those type of posts in a separate section.

Because I enjoy his dumping - it's cool seeing all the new cars. Just not at the cost of regular discussions being drowned out. Different section seems like an easy fix.
