There was an interesting article posted in here by a forum member that got deleted.

I bookmarked it so I could read it from home. Was about a Subaru. FiestaST took offense to it being posted and the thread got deleted...

This section needs a rework, this shyte isn't working no more. Good posts by members being flooded by news from FiestaST daily and the posts are drowned out. I have suggested a separate section for FiestaST to post his news and updates on other news he flooded this section with already but to no avail. I appreciate his news posts just like anyone else, the issue here is that valid user discussions are drowned out. I'm not the only person with this concern and I would like this issue discussed.

People hardly even post in here no more and post vehicle related questions in OT because of the flooding in this section. Obviously something needs to be done...

..

This part is interesting. Can you explain more?

PS, I agree completely OP, the moderation in the Motoring section is pathetic even by mybb's massive standards.

Spammer got zapped along with his posts.

Huh?

It was an article about the new Subaru being the cheapest in range SUV  I really wanted to read it... FiestaST posted a "sigh" and linked to two of his threads where he wanted it to be in. I tried to read it last night and it was gone.

That is because it was a forum member that has done this before, double or triple posted threads that has already been posted, thus spamming the section

It then highlights my issue with the threads being drowned out as it's nearly impossible to find interesting articles in this heap of a news mess.

If the article has been posted before, please link me to it so I can at least read it. Seriously interested when I saw it for sub R 400k

Pretty much from the look of it.

FWIW FiestaST had nothing to do with it. From what I can see all he did was point out to the poster that there was already an existing thread on the subject.

So why not move it then? I don't see a single article that has the SA pricing which that one had yesterday. This section is seriously turning into a dump...

O right, we should wait for FiestaST to post that article right? /facepalm

If we are now suddenly into moderation on this subforum can we do something about the massive walls of text and the people quoting them to reply? A nice discussion In a thread is easily drowned out by consecutive walls of text, even if one had the time to go digging for that discussion what is the point?

I'm referring to the article the OP posted. That article is not in any of those threads.

The amount of threads means the OP should have posted it into one of these and the Mods should have just moved the created forum into one of these related threads.
