Could be cheaper, but they must be the cheapest in the market. Anybody got this service yet?

Yes and thus far i have been fairly happy with it. Good speeds most of the time and top notch service from neotel.

For an uncapped connection this is definately the best price i have come across. Especially considering the speed.

Yes, I am a client of Neotel. Speeds, are awesome on torrents during peak hours and off peak, great after hours support. Phone them up any time around 3-4 am,they always glad to take the phone call. No, waiting time at all... They do actually phone their clients back, and had a slight problem and they sent the technical guy over to my place 2 times...

And over the weeks the service has improved drastically...
Latency have improved from 2000ms, 300ms now to 100 ms...

I will be honest with you was frustrated at first with the downtime, but I am glad Neotel have sorted things out ;) Just slight errors still on their Network.

They are listening to the public, and soon clients will be upgraded from 2.4 Mbps - 3.1 Mbps. [New packages to come out] By end of the hear.

Soon they'll introduce a router to work with the CDMA.
R999.

You must have been on another planet for the past 4 months.....lol.
Of course his been living in another planet..... Not many people browse all over the forum..
I want it too, but can't get it ... yet.
gdiza - you can come live by me then to get Neotel... Just one catch you pay for your own Neotel :)

i'd like to get the lite does anyone know the Speeds of the Uncapped Light?

Q2: What does on-net minutes mean?

from what i remember the guys that were using the lite device got about 20KBps, could be wrong though.

The on-net minutes refers to free minutes to other neotel users ON their NETwork.

The Lite is only 156kbps, i.e. 19.5KB max download speeds, which you probably won't achieve though. It's quite crippling, I wouldn't suggest it.

@RichardG - Have you done any online gaming? If you are getting 100ms latencies, then it could work, as it is beter than 3G and there are alot of people playing warcraft 3 online with 3G...

I use to be on the "Lite Device" 17 KBps Average.
The on-net refers to Free talking time but only to other Neotel customers..

I did play some online games, no hassles what so ever, just the spikes :)

The spikes happen at least once or twice a minute and can spike to anywhere from 500-3300 ms. enough to cause a connection loss between you and the server. I don't know about other games but i can tell you that Crysis has a network timeout icon pop up every now and then. The only other problem i can see with neconnect for gaming is the slow upload speeds. Anywhere from 5-10 KBps on average so not very good.

Actually I have been. :)

To be honest I have been applying my mind on too many things in too an unstructured manner. I am catching up fast. ;)

Would the current uncapped subscribers of Neotel please list any possible disadvantages to this service over my current 4mbps SAIX TI?

Obviously i know its not as fast in terms of 2.4mbps vs 4mbps.. But im willing to sacrifice that for uncapped..

Would appreciate it greatly!

I don't have a neotel modem, but a couple of things off the top of my head:
1) Doesn't sounds stable enough for gaming to me
2) We haven't seen what its like when the number of subscribers get closer to capacity.
3) Why is intl latency on par with adsl, but local is not.

For pure gigs per $$$ it sounds pretty much unbeatable though.:)

CDMA/3G or GSM/3G routers

There will be Wifi AP's with Neotel's 1x/EVDO and GSM/HSDPA devices; devices from http://www.cradlepoint.com; available locally...

Have been testing them with Neotel and MTN...

Works brilliantly! Especially the MBR.
