Anyone have ANY idea why this phone is so DARN expensive on Vodacom???

They want R2000 for the phone on Talk200, and will drop to R1400 when going to Talk500.

WTF!! They want me to spend R400+ / month more on a contract and only drop by R600!!!

What's worse is MTN is GIVING the phone away on their Procall120 contract!!!

Vodacom is becoming more expensive. As soon as my contract is finished( Next year January) I am switching to Virgin. I am sick of how expensive their rates are. Nearly three rand from Vodacom to a Mtn call !!!

who is really the expensive one?? vodacom treats video calls same as normal calls, i.e. free minutes apply and callmore time and so on, MTN charges at least R2 per minute no matter when you call??

okay so you switch to VIRGIN with your nokia n80 3g phone. virgin doesnt have 3g, so you will be losing out on half the phones features!

Luckily I'm on MTN and will be getting my N80 soon for free...

urg rub it in why dont you... i am still like 3 months from upgrade and will propably end up with some crap phone. any ideas yet when they proper TV phones will be available?

Well I have contracts with both MTN and VC so I can choose who is the best at that time to supply the phone I want. :D

Easy, sell your body to afford the phone cash... :D

Vodacom will not release the N80 soon, because they are telling everyone it is software issues, but the truth is they can't load their VodaLive software to the phone, that is why they will not release the nokia n80.I got mine from MTN and no problems what so ever.I am using Virgin pre-paid data to surf the net from my N80,only 0.50c per mgb.

What package did you get it on, if you don't mind me asking? Also are you using MTNSP as your ips?

I got the Nokia N80 on Mycall 100 (MTN) R159.per month and a once off R588.
I have the contract for 3 weeks now.The R588 fee was a downgrade fee from
Pro call120 to Mycall 100, On Pro call it was free @R285 per month.Go well:)

The phone is available on Vodacom. All the shops I went to had the N80.
That is where I got the outrageous prices from!
It's been available since this week, nobody had it last week when I went.
I'm in Cape Town.

Yes, no vodacom in Cape Town had it yesterday, because I phoned arounded looking for a crystal cover for my Nokia N80,and ask if they had stock of the N80 for my friend, no Vodacom in Canal Walk had nor Cell C or MTN had stock of the phone.I am still looking for a crystal cover for my N80 though.Anybody know where I can get stock in Cape Town?
