This is just what I need. Wow.
Things must have changed recently because last time I did a comparison the UK prices were as bad as ours. We always used to wait for one of our regular trips across the pond to buy our equipment - to this day none of our laptops has a £ key
I was also surprised. Maybe they dont want to steal the glory of their new ultra-portable laptop or a potential new gadget??

Who's willing to bet you can run a windoze XP virtual machine on this baby without sacrificing much... i.e. you get all the Mac plus windoze for the rubbish that doesn't run on Mac.

56kMan wants one of these Macs for processing of video, but he already knows it won't be enough. Mmmmm... Ah yes - I've got it! Render farm!!! 56kMan makes note to buy 10 Macs plus 10 render licenses of After Effects CS3. Mmmmm... Ghhaaaa... drooooooooool!!!!!!!!!

ZAStore hasn't listed the new range and prices yet. You may have misquoted the (R37.000) price from the superceded top of the line 3ghz 8 Core.

Given the way prices "in general" have come more on par with Europe, I would hope the trend will stick...
Sounds great, and I bet one could use it to fry eggs as well - unless it comes with a liquid Nitrogen cooling system or something similar...

Yeah - considering the market for the MacPro they're probably not targeting the stupid crowd (whats the point - Bill's got them locked in anyway
).I never said I wasnt biased. I sold my soul to MS long ago, when they made my job really easy with their cutting edge tool and flexibility.
I that being said I dont hate Apple. They got one or 2 decent products. I hate Apple marketing and I hate Apple users, man those people just dont know when to shut up.

MS made your job real easy with their cutting edge tool and flexibility.......... You must be a person that never tried Apple software, they just work better, easier and wihout blue screens, and then they are still a fraction of the MS price.

The £ key may not be visible, but it is there. Just press Option Key and 3. € key by pressing Shift Option 2.
The UK Macbooks do not show a # sign but for the rest the keyboard is the same as ours. The US keyboard looks different in that the Return key is horisontally and the \ key is next to the ] key.
