Firefox 3 speaks Afrikaans

I'm actually pretty impressed they did something like this. Especially being that Afrikaans users would make up a very small minority of the global population using Firefox.
Also pretty impressed with how impressively FF3 works....

Quite impressive! :)

@ froot - I see local developers done it, so not to hard to believe. :)

BTW, only came back from work today, so still on FF2... :o

/running off to download FF3 :p

Yeah I know, but they would need Mozilla's help in doing so- they would need FF3 to be able to translate it.... but once again really impressive :)

I've been using the Afrikaans language pack for Firefox 2 for ages now. This is nothing new.

al wat ek kan sê is die FireFoX werk soos n bom!
This thing works like a charm!

Sorry to say it, but Firefox in Afrikaans sounds so stupid.

I'm Afrikaans btw, but seeing Afrikaans in an otherwise English application just doesn't work for myself.

Also the same for the Afrikaans LIP that was recently released for XP just doesn't cut it as well.

Vir die manne en vroue wat van hulle taal hou, is hierdie twee seker die eerste opsies wat hulle sal installeer op hulle stelsels :D

The translation for FireFox and MS Xp were done by two totally different entities.

FireFox was translated by translate.org.za - mostly by volunteers, and XP by the North West University under contract by MS.

It is a pity that the private volunteer initiative resulted in a better product than the contract work at a massive academic institution.

MyAdsl Identity Information

"Firefox 3 also has a number of improved security features including better malware protection. Firefox 3's one-click site ID information makes it easy for users to verify that a site is what it claims to be."

I see using this new feature that mybroadband.co.za does not supply identity information

they do xhosa and zulu as well iirc. or i may be thinking of OOo

You like 2/3 months late for this article
