I use an E272 on PPDB.
I have been experiencing literally dozens of disconnects per day everyday over the past month or so. Sometimes it gets so bad that it disconnects within 2 or 3 minutes of connecting and, more often than not, I have been unable to reconnect. The popup error was "RAS 680" in every case.
I have tried everything to get rid of this problem (deleting the device ... deleting and reinstalling VMC etc.) and even went as far as rebuilding my C-drive with a clean install of Windows XP pro SP3. Al of this to no avail!
Anyway, last night I uninstalled VMC for the umpteenth time. I then went into my Networks folder and realised that the VC connection was still there. I double-clicked it and it connected immediately. After that, no more disconnects for the evening.
I have now been connected continuously since 09:00 today and have not experienced a single disconnect. Speeds are great, too.
So, where does the problem lie? With the VMC software, it seems, but why?
TIA.
(I wrote to vodacom3g about this, but I heard somewhere that he's on leave?)
