99% off calls to all networks

From 1 October Yebo4Less Top Up customers can get up to 99% off calls to all networks. The Yebo4Less service comes in two flavours, namely a Top Up 99 for R 99.00 per month and Top Up 199 for R 199.00 per month.

So still nothing on the current top up packages? Like the R135 one? And on normal contracts? :mad: Can't they have worked out something, if not during my minutes, but after I ran out of my 120 off peak mins. :(

I really don't see the point in being a contract subscriber anymore.

It is however not clear how Vodacom are able to offer a 99% discounts on off-net calls where high interconnect rates mean that the company will be making a loss on calls during 99% discounted periods.
If you're already a Top Up customer, all you need to do to take advantage of the variable discounted call rates is to change to one of the Yebo4Less Top Up tariff plans by contacting your Service Provider. If you are a new customer, please visit your nearest participating Vodacom approved outlet.

Looks like it is only on the Yebo4Less Top Up contracts.

With Yebo4Less Top Up, you can now get discounts of up to 99% off calls to all networks You also get a guaranteed minimum discount of 50% off calls made during off-peak times, to any number! With Yebo4Less Top Up, per second billing, you only pay for what you say.

With all these specials i'm left asking Myself what is the Real cost of a Phone call?Cellc has 2hr free to cellc calls prepaid,and Mtn & Voda have these specials that allows more than 90% off calls to all networks.So how much does it really cost to Make a call?
 
Let me clarify ,How much does it cost the Network to make our calls?95% off on all calls to all networks on Mtn is almost free.I'm starting to think that Cellphone companies have been milking the eat cow for a long time.

Cost to carry

It costs 5c per minute 2 carry a mobile call on one network as the call reaches the networks switch and then sent onto the destinations network it costs another 5c.

TOTAL - Cost = 10c per minute. Off - Network

On - Network = 5c per minute.

INTERCONNECTION IS A REVENUE EARNING RESOURCE IN SOUTH AFRICA ?

There will never be cost based interconnection in SA !

Cell - C gives its customers 60 minutes per week-end FREE. It costs Cell - C R3 for that 60 minutes. They require you to recharge with R10. They make that R3 when ur 60 minutes has lapsed.

NOTHING IS FREE ?

And the reason why the networks are doing it for prepaid customers is because prepaid earns a lot more than the contracts.

Yeah I have seen some people buying airtime that at the end they spend 500 or more in one month on airtime.

At least I am on prepaid will help me :D

Not much, now anyway...
The towers pay themselves off and have been doing so for the past 14 years... Its almost free, just like listening to the radio.
 
Prepaid is nice - as you have a physical limit on what you can spend.

Contract you can keep on yakking until you get an expensive bill.

Not with Top Up. and you can put limits on your lines so you dont go over.
 
I'd be curious to see how often people would actually get a 99% discount? I'm guessing you'd have to be phoning around midnight from blikkiesdorp to actually see those reductions...
