Neotel launches Neogo

This is a good step IMO for Neotel. It's very portable, fast and much more cost effective on both M2M and Contract compared to Vodacom/MTN - if I'm not mistaken.

I like the fact that you can go M2M.

how does this pricing compare with other wireless data products from Vodacom, MTN, etc?
Pricing compatsion on its way. I actually did not check yet, but it looks to be slightly cheaper than current offering, with a far lower out of bundle rate: R 0.08 compared to R 1.20

Does it work on linux / mac?
Or did neotel learn nothing from the usb fiasco?

Dud why you asking rpm for a price comparison by now you must already know this is the cheapest Broadband on the go cheaper then Telkom as well
R239.00 for 1.5g and out of bundle at 8c.me heading over to the classified section to porn off my Hauwei E172 lol

The contract option is priced at R 299.00 per month and includes 1.5 GB of data, a NeoMail account and an out-of-bundle rate of 8c per MB. The month-to-month option costs at R239.00 per month.

So what do you get with the M2M option?

R80/Gb? and neotel is the main seacom reseller?

#fail

Can you find a lower out-of-bundle rate anywhere? I am not talking in SA only - any cellular or semi-mobile provider worldwide?

Well done Neotel, you actually came up with a product that is competitive... this makes all 3G packages seem overpriced... I might just take a gander at this product, however, if I will wait for others to use it first and get feedback, as i have already burnt my fingers with other NeoFails.

Tried to get onto Neotels site seems to be off. I have used similar to that a E180 with mobile connect works pretty spif but again what will the congestion be on their network, after a while

hmmm... stuck in a vodacom contract now so hope they will lower their prices soon... The only thing im worried about is the reliability of the neotel service since the neoconnect prime and neoflex customers seems to be experiencing unstable speeds and latency, but the price is definitely attractive.

comparing it with the broadband standard from vodacom, NeoGo prices puts vodacom/mtn to shame:

neo 1.5g- 299pm vod/mtn 1gig 349pm
neo 2g- 339.96pm vod/mtn 2gig 449pm
neo 3g- 421.88pm vod/mtn 3gig 649pm
neo 5g- 585.72pm vod/mtn 5gig 1049pm

if vodacom does not lower their prices and there are not too many problems with NeoGo then im defnitely switching to neotel :-)

Those are contract prices. Don't forget their out of bundle ranges from R2 to 50c a meg where the NeoGo is 8c / Meg.

It's a nice mobile solution. Well Done to them.

NeoGo? It should be called NeoStay - If you want to go anywhere it won't go with you, so what's the point? Not everyone in SA lives in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town or Durban

It's the out-of-bundle rate which slaughters the competition.

To put the out-of-bundle rates into context:
Sprint (US): costs US$0.05¢/MB out of bundle.
AT&T (US): costs US$0.48/MB out of bundle.

BUT the major difference is you get 5GB of bundled data for US$60 (ZAR460).

@rpm I assume this is EVDO, which is a pity because it means you can't just jump ship by getting a different SIM and using your existin 3G card.

STILL WAITING FOR UNCAPPED NEOFLEX WITH A ROUTER!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I agree and where can we see the coverage cos I might just go for one of these myself it is way cheaper and even almost compareable to TelkomDSL
