Seriously, I am have gone off a lot of these anti-virus makers.

I'm still using Kaspersky at the moment and while, not perfect, it is the best of the lot.

Why do anti-virus makers have to label game cracks and anti-wga cracks as malware?

Seriously, who told them to do that? Microsoft? I know that the cracks themselves can theoretically be infected with another virus... but they are not in and of themselves malware.

Just because it cracks a game or removes wga they have decided amongst all themselves to blacklist this type or software? It cheeses me off. Meantime they are becomeing more and more ineffective at removing the real trojans and worms and spyware. :mad:

I don't run an anti virus, just scan once a week or 2 :D, sometimes like couple months.

Most bloody annoying thing known to man grrrrrrrrrr, still have yet to get a virus on windows 7/vista or 64 xp.

Yup the cracks getting deleted is my main reason for not running one.

How big are the updates for Kaspersky and whats the effect on machine performance?

Bitdefender 2007 was awesome, 2008 was rubbish and 2009 better but still crap.

Using Avira Free-av again, but also identifies stuff as malware others don`t, only bonus is it normally asks what to do first...

Don't think I've ever had AVG pick up a false positive... I think your cracks have virusses :p
 
Been using AVG for years too. Seems to do well enough with together with ZoneAlarm
 
If you want good anti virus use Avira Antivir. If you are willing to pay use NOD32. End of story.
