Very good Piesang. I just did a speedtest on my Bold set to EDGE and got 240Kbits/s average. With 3G on I get:

There is a thread by Piesang showing that the new version of Mxit uses BIS, have not tried it myself yet.

Thanks for the new thread, it certainly affords us the opportunity to compare apples with apples :D

As this is the MTN EDGE/GPRS thread cannot post my VC Speed test here, but I am still on Sub 20kbps :o

Have referenced this thread on the Why is the BB Internet so slow sticky.

VC putting their head in the sand is no solution to getting our issue sorted.

Keep the Speed test posts going.

Glad to see you guys have made the right choice in BIS provider :D

As I mentioned in another thread, I would hardly endorse poor service, for that is what we have been receiving from VC, see below.

I will adopt a "say NO to Blackberry 8520 on Vodacom Blackberry Internet Service" because of the following:

MTN is by far superior to Vodacom in terms of BIS. Which is quite surprising because normally they slacking in everything. But big up to MTN i think they deserve a pat on the shoulder!

Its things like this where i think service providers deserve more credit than is due. Keep up the good work MTN!!

MTN is great and all but it looks like they have put up boundries or something on the browser because there are some sites I can't go into
and lately I can't download music anymore it fails immediately I really don't want to switch networks over this BIS thing I love MTN
