DStv PACE versus UEC HD PVRs

Where's the Logic button?

Same functionality, same price...where's the logic in this?

Cheaper with less functionality\performance (altought hard for them to offer LESS functionality\performance)...YES
More expensive with more functionality\performance...YES

For me the only important thing is the software...

I just can't understand why these decoders have so many bugs and why nothing seems to get done about them!

No point in having any of these in my mind...

No HDMI and probably still no event tracking for recording purposes in the software!

Does anyone know the exact processor manufacturers part numbers in the two models, the comparison doesn't give much away here.

EDIT : QT, care to enlighten us?

The advertising on dstv is "Get the HDPVR, now available in two colours - black and silver"...

:)

Hahahaha - you made me look at the specs again!

They don't have HDMI outputs for audio/video.

Well that's cool to know because I haven't seen that on any spec list and I must admit i haven't physically seen one either to look at the inputs/outputs.

Why omit something like that?

Sorry. Don't have the processor models. Somebody else posted it before, I think.

Does anybody know if the software supports better series recording / event tracking?

This Time-based scheduled recording feature really sucks!

How do I know if my satellite dish is HD enabled? I currently have three satellite cables coming into the lounge - not sure if the previous tenant had HD or not.

Also - something that's confusing me, what's the point of them enabling 1080p output if the decoders are not capable of receiving 1080p?
