Seeing a massive flood of people who can't make calls or send SMS

Can't view Facebook at work but i am getting "Protocol stack error" when trying to send SMS's.

Ah, is Vodascum borked again?
Instead of spending money on new network equipment and more backhaul they bought the chieftans some new shiny cars instead?

Is this problem tied in with their birthday gift over the weekend?

I mean, did they broke something when iintroducing that 1Gb freebie?

Same for me. Disappointed in Vodacom. Happy 20th birthday.......

I almost missed my interview this morning since I couldn't make a call or SMS. Luckily iMessage saved me...

Have had problems since this morning.

I'm on TopUp and no service while another guy in the office is on contract and he was able to phone me. I cannot do any USSD requests to check balance.

A lady in the office got a 'no network error' on her Vodacom number. Mine is fine though

Looks as if the prepaid and top up systems are down.

I am sure that it has to do with yesterday's fiasco.

I can still use my data bundle. Just no outgoing calls or USSD session I will assume they have a problem with their billing engine and its registering zero balance - this would explain why I can receive phone calls.

Just tested SMS, also not going through. Def a billing issue. This is going to be fun as my son has a birthday party this afternoon and most of the parents have not been to our house or know the area.

Get a cellC or 8ta prepaid SIM and use that to SMS/call the parents?

IMO your analysis is correct - ties in with my observations.

Luckily I use a S4 Mini Duos, with a Cell C sim in the second slot, so I can still make calls.

Bummer, Vodacom !

Some techie tried to reset the 1 GB balances to zero, and then he managed to do it for all balances ???
