Telkom fibre prices

Does anyone have the telkom prices for fibre connections that it will be launching on the 1st of December?

There are various comparisons of fibre vs LTE products around, especially in Jhb, but they often have providers listed that aren't in other parts of the country. I'm in Durban in one of the areas that will have fibre shortly but I haven't seen prices for the packages that will be on offer from Telkom who will be the only provider in the area.

I don't have the prices but I'm in the process. I also had a chat to my Telkom Business Account Manager and he said it would be priced quite well - he estimated 100mbps at around R1800 for home. While my options are 10/10mbps uncapped fibre R499 20/20mbps uncapped R899... 50 and 100mbps uncapped R1499 and R2899 respectively - all includes a phone and voice line keeping your Telkom number and calls are at competitive rates if you use your telephone still. I believe the install is around R1500 and includes everything.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds fantastic - at the right price I think there will be a lot of uptake. I'm really looking forward to my uncapped fibre line. We look forward to hearing once you have the prices!

Are you referring to Telkom Fibre residential pricing, or to a service specific to your area not provided by Telkom?

Good pricing if true. 20/20Mbps uncapped for R899 would be rather nice. I'd absolutely love that upload speed.

Agreed! At that price I think Telkom will do very well, deservedly so as they are investing a lot into the infrastructure.
 
I'd go for that! Even the 50Mbps... there's fibre on my curb... cannot wait for this! Let's hope they don't somehow stuff things up! Here's keeping our fingers crossed for Telkom to make a comeback!

As excited as I was I suddenly remembered this is Telkom we are talking about. Hidden cost, extortion etc here we come.

This will fail unfortunately
 
Those prices are not correct. Also, the download/upload speed is NOT symmetrical. I know someone on the 100meg trial and the upload is 1/10 the download.
