Telkom’s WiMax receives positive feedback

ROFL

Could we have an independant review of Telscum's WiMax trials?
Like I'm going to believe a word this pathetic company has to say...

The only thing I don't understand is why telkom wont give you wimax if you are in a adsl area. Wouldnt it be quicker to get the customer up and running on wimax than adsl? This just doesn't make any sense to me.

LOL - think money

the overriding impression i get from the market is that the MWeb Wimax trial is far superior to the telkom one (and telkom are well aware of this)

Please have a look at the above link and all the false Telkom advertisements dominic. They conveniently fail to mention any of the price increases, and also fail to mention that they will still make more money from the same user base than before even whilst "reducing prices". I wonder if the same Telkom mouth that spews such lies can tell any truth when it comes to Wimax. IBIWISI.

Unfortunately Telkom could not divulge actual figures

Now isn't that a surprise! somehow i think telkom is lying

my friend telkom doesnt make any sense anyways..;)

Can one actually order WiMax and what is the latency like.. ?
As I understand it you order a broadband connection. If you are covered by ADSL you get that; if not if there is Wimax you get that. If neither enter queue. Repeat until fade...

LOL does anyone trust a thing some person at Telkom says? I'll believe it when I see the (probably shockingly bad) statistics...

WiMax is currently used as an ADSL replacement technology, and at this stage is only offered as an alternative option to customers if they reside within the WiMax footprint and cannot access ADSL.

I can just see Telkom going to ICASA to try and get them to make this law, and ICASA will do so, as they love Telkom and want to protect it’s profits, regardless of the South African Economy being raped.
