:rolleyes: WTF? :confused: I'm sorry to say this but those people should be banned from the internet.
 
Maybe it is getting extended because it did not have the desired effect. How long will 40MB last at full speed? Clearly a cap this size cannot be called broadband.

How is that the same. Axxess are reselling plain data, no massive wireless network to maintain and expand etc. if you include some line rental maybe.

Even when you compare it to Telkom it is out of wack...

"Their DSL 384 service with a 1 GB of monthly usage allowance now costs R 199-00"

Yes, but can also get Telkom DSL up 4Mb/s for R413-00pm with a 0MB (Yes ZERO megabytes) data allowance. You still have to buy data over and above that. And pay for phone rental.

While 40MB is totally useless, it has been a clever ploy by iBurst to bring dial-up users to the plate. Their special + add-on data combinations are significantly better value for money than their regular services.

Of course, on the downside, this is iBurst we are talking about, and I wouldn't go near them even if I was equipped with a pocket full of accountants and a radioactive bargepole.

Ummmm shouldn't it be up to one megabit per second. 1 MEGABYTE would be 8 MEGABITS per second.

MB = megabyte (1024 Kilobytes)
Mb = megabit (1024 Kilobits)

8 bits in a byte

You guys are all missing the point. For people who use the internet just for sending emails, this is a great alternative to dial-up. Let me give you an example. My father-in-law is in his mid sixties. He only sends emails - knows nothing about downloads. he types so slowly that on dialup - his monthly bill is over R 1000. With the R 49 Ibust though, the 40MB lasts him the whole month, and no matter how long it takes him to reply to an email - it doesn't cost him more than R 49 pm

What about the R2000 modem?
 
zambussi your point is not valid man

you dont have to be connected to the internet to type an email

so you would type said email dial up and click send

you dont dial up take 4 hours to type and then send

he is causing his huge bill
