Hey y'all,

Like the title says, ..I've already sent the motherboard and ram in for testing, and they're fine, ..the cd-rom is new, the HDD is new...
I'm at a loss..

It'll sometimes get to asking for scsi / raid drivers, bt then again, the cd stops spinning and it jst hangs..

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!!..

Put the CD on the secondary channel as master and not with the hdd as slave on primary.

ok,there is only one solution which is the only one,GET ANOTHER CD FIRST TO TEST,then you blame the hardware, and please dont press on the keyboard when they ask to install 3rd party raid..etc,just let it alone.

It's a sign that you need to load Linux, preferably Ubuntu Linux...

(Gawd...I can't believe I just suggested that...)

Maybe the system is thinking. Leave it for a longer time and see if it picks up again. The CD doesn't spin all the time.

Have tried 2 cd-writers, and 2 xp discs home / pro.

So the drive just stops spinning...

What brand of CD-Writer have you tried? [I know that Samsung has some problems with CD/DVD's]
Is the copy of Windows an Original?
have you re-formated the drive before the install? [re-formated the C:/ partition]
Is it a "Windows" Windows XP or a Proline/Sahara Windows XP?

I would Imagine you have the boot sequence set to CD-ROM - HDD - Floppy have you tried plugging the CD-ROM into another IDE/SATA port or using another IDE/Sata cable.

1x disc is an original, the other a copy.
What's the easiest way to format the c:\without the windows disc??
CD-ROM - HDD yip, ..only 2 ide ports on this sucka and the other has the HDD, maybe il try swapping them..

Have you tried booting from a linux live disk just to make sure everything else is in order?

Me no have Linux disc..

..easiest way to format the c:\without the windows disc?? ..anyone?

you need a win98 boot disk or cd. Then format c:. Then you can copy the i386 folder a cross from the xp cd onto c drive. Then run setup and install windows. I think you have to run ramdrive to speed things up

Thanks dude, il give it a read.

..still like to know the easiest way to format the c:\without the windows disc?..
