Can Telkom revive itself?

Please do not hold your collective breaths while waiting for me to shed a tear over telkom's recent downturn in fortunes.
 
A brilliant article. I especially like this bit:

Very nice article.

Rings very very true. Pity its going to take some time for the new players to ramp up and all that.

Telkom I think are at that point of no-return where alot of people will just refuse to do business with them, if there are other options, even if the other options are more expensive.
 
Very simple. Break Telkom up into smaller competing companies. Very easy!
 
Monopoly

i dont think the problem is that Telkom is a monopoly. the problem is that Telkom provides cr@p service and offerings at a high price.

If Telkom was a monopoly who provided good service at affordable prices we wouldnt complain, and they wouldnt have a problem with competition.

The problem is that Telkom are useless in everything they do, so when any form of competition pops up, then people automatically switch.
 
One can see the result of Telkoms poor service and high prices in the satellite dishes erected at Vodacoms head-office, Vodaworld in Midrand. I believe those are there to bring in International capacity for Vodacom. This was said in an article in a local newspaper last year or early this year.

Very true I think, Telkom is going to be in trouble when more competition comes around.
There is far too much resentment for the company from it's customers. But it is well deserved :P
