Vodacom blackout

I think initially it affected some/all prepaid users but now its only a Joburg issue.

That article is written around information of locale from forum members ... if you didn't bitch, they wouldn't know

Correct :D We asked for VC feedback but no info forthcoming yet. We therefore had to rely on forum feedback about regions etc.

Currently sitting in Centurion, on my Vodacom 3G connection. Works fine, cellphone is dead though. That ever so annoying "No Access to Network" message...

Last week down in CT various Vodacom users had issues as well - my phone was without signal from 11am to about 9pm!!

That's twice in a week

We had an outage last week Friday too! Come on Vodacom - is it time to move to MTN or one of the other players? Seems so...

had the same problem last week as well!!! Really not happy with this service.

Thought lightning does not strike twice on the same place...

Ok....this is not funny anymore.....have been without cellphone coverage for the last four hours.....and this time lightening gets blamed....mmm....pls tell me Vodacom does not house its IN platforms in rural North West Province:eek:, in the open air.

Where is old Dottie Fields, spinner of note.....did someone forget a screwdriver in the server room, or did they pick up these IN platforms at a second hand auction somewhere in Eastern Europe??

And why the hell does your "fracken" Customer Care not pick up??.....mmm.....time for klippies and coke...

We had problems in the Braamfontein area from around 3pm, although my phone was dead till around 9pm, and during that time I travelled all the way back home, about 25k's west of there.

4 hours is a lot of time if you have to do support for several stores! (Support till 7). The other phone I had on me worked at least. Also Vodacom.

And no, I'm not on prepaid.

Twice in as many weeks? That's a lot of downtime!
