With the gaming industry making more money than the film industry currently its certainly a wise move for isps to be courting he gaming market.

its part of the Tripple-play system.

Video will be enabled in due time for all the victims.

1. Games are crap
2. Wireless controllers are so much better
3. Microsoft has anounced on more than one occasion that game developers will start making games with the xbox hard drive in mind (to store textures etc), so the memory card will be useless and you'll have to fork out another R800 just for the HD...
4. You'll be supporting Telkom...nuff said

I'm tempted... I was out looking for cellphone deals yesterday that included an XBOX 360. This seems a little better :)

1. Games are crap

In my humble opinion those games are quite addictive

2. Wireless controllers are so much better

THey are wireless?

Actually Microsoft has announced on numerous occasions that the only games that are allowed to require a HDD are MMO's (Massively Multiplayer Online)... which don't exist for any console yet...

4. You'll be supporting Telkom...nuff said
On that point I do agree

Is there XBOX Live in SA now?

No.,,, Still not but keep asking the question until they give in :D

PS: Never heard of an Xbox 260 though?

The first 600 customers will also receive a video phone worth R699.00 free with their XBox 260.

Okay, next month Teklom will start selling cars. I mean, who really wants a telecoms service provider to actually provide telecoms services?

Why don't they provide a gamers broadband package?
- Garauntee'd less than 40ms latency to SAIX games servers.
- Garauntee'd less than 350ms latency to New York and UK based servers.
- Unlimited bandwidth for game playing.
- Ip Address file for using with RouteSentry to route games through the new connection.
- For 90 bucks a month?

nooooo, lets sell xboxes instead?

I'll stay clear of the xbox thanks - saving up for a PS3 :)

Nope - still not enough to persuade me. Maybe the 260 is the cheap Chinese clone they've gotten hold of :)

just watch out, even though it ships with 5 free games, playing for more than 20 minutes a day is a violation of their aup.

Telkom do not have the words guaranteed and unlimited in their dictionary :p

Are any of those games any good?
the XBox’s are selling like sweetcakes even though the deal is officially only set for launch on Monday.
Do sweetcakes sell anything like hotcakes?

I was there and saw the frenzy. Guys, those of you who want the deal should go ASAP! I think the units may well be engulfed by Telkom's own employees who obviously got 1st wind of it and are buying for Xmas.
