All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

I have 12 more 450w panels on my wish list in the coming months but I might do another 10kw battery instead and panels later... Every time I look at pricing it's got more expensive. 10/8 Freedom Won is now 80k... Can't see it getting cheaper.
Welcome to the upgrade train...best gird your wallet

Exchange rate isn't exactly helping

Who of you actually have your inverter 50cm away from anything else on all sides?
Anyone heard of issues with warranty as a result of not doing it?

Mine is 35 from my battery but the battery is always cool even when working hard.
Nope. I think most people dont meet those requirements as most trunking, etc runs close to inverters.
My battery also about 30cm below my inverter.
Other sides are open if you exclude db's and trunking

Anyone know if it's possible to set the total PV capacity to a decimal value in the Sunsynk Connect app? It seems to only allow me to enter whole numbers which is really annoying me as I have a 6.5kWp system but I either have to make it 6 or 7. Not a huge deal but annoying nonetheless :(

Yip. Edit the plant and type in 6.5

Ah, managed to get around it. It's a bug on the iOS app where it expects a period but the keyboard only shows you a comma. I opened it up on my M1 Mac and was able to just use the keyboard to enter the period.

Thanks for letting me know it's possible though.

On the intake (LHS) there is about 20cm clearance from a sub DB box. On the side where the air exits the back of the SS (RHS) it is unobstructed. Having watched the fans in action, I'm confident there is no air restriction.

I've contacted two installers so far for a quote and one installer told me to rather go for Deye vs Sunsynk because "with the sunsynk the installer has access to your settings and some of them will mess with your settings so that you do a callout"
And they're not fans of Luxpower because they "have to many returns"

It is when installers creates the plant on the sunsynk app and add the homeowner as a user instead of the other way around. I've seen it a few times with some installers insisting on doing it this way.

You don't need the installer to setup the sunsynk app. Some if them just want to have full control which is unnecessary.

The installer I used says they use it to basically just monitor it for the first week to make sure everything is working correctly and to balance the system when enough data is collected. I'm basically doing this myself, but I also won't ignore any advice from a Sunsynk Master installer.

I was on SolarAssistant's website yesterday looking at the full OrangePi kit, went there today and it's out of stock :(

Luckily Amazon has plenty stock so I ordered one there and will get the other stuff from the SolarAssistant site. Just going to wait a bit longer.

The Sunsynk app has some pretty good Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) which will allow for a system owner to give an installer very specific remote permissions. These can be temporary as well, granted and revoked or disabled afterwards. But most homeowners would not really be interested, and most installers would not either. I also understand that an installer may want to have access to change settings remotely, especially for rural clients that are far away, and to lock the system owner / kids out if they have finger trouble.

Both Deye and Sunsynk can be remotely "fiddled with" by virtually anyone.
If you want to secure it (and you should) but also remotely access it, install something like Solar assistant and keep the included dongle offline until you need it for support. Solarmann and the Sunsynk app are both inherently insecure and shouldn't be left online.
@ Deye users, what app do you use?
Deye users can use the Solarman or Deye app

Home assistant mostly, otherwise solarman business
