Car Accident Advice

I have a copy of his ID, Accident Report and His number. He said he was insured with iDirect. The Damage to my car according to an RMI approved panel shop is 134k
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but his brand new car is probably going to cost as much if not more to repair and they may come after you for the costs. Your claim that he was at fault may be true but without evidence their shady lawyers may try pin it on you. Be careful

Crazy just saw this now....

Just make sure to go to the library or spaza shop Intenet café to access that ...

It's been 26 hours ... .

It would appear that @IQOS has been taken out when he unwisely went to meet up again with the Tiguan driver, unfortunately ...

Well, RIP.

How can that possibly be true?
Because their insurance covers them not the 3rd party, so they need to first open a claim before their insurance will even think about entertaining anything.

But if they are unreachable (or in a coma, or dead) there has to be procedures and channels in place to get it all started, surely?
That is where lawyers come in. If Op had his own insurance then he wouldn't even need to worry about the tiguan driver being unreachable. Op's insurance would find him and make him pay. But Op chose to save a couple of hundred bucks a month now he is here with no Legal backup.

That was an expensive saving. Could never understand how people were comfortable driving without insurance.

Being comfortable is the last thing you want to be when driving without insurance.

Instead, you want to be alert!

The whole time!

With energy drinks in both of the cup holders!!

You can alert as you want when the reckless or drunk poephol drives into you leaving you fcked. As happened to the OP.

Yes you can claim directly from the 3d party insurance.

Good start.
Use that information to build up a profile of what he likes and dislikes. Learn how to use stable diffusion - use it create a profile of someone that would suit him to a tee. Over time, build up a virtual relationship, let him buy you gifts, always promising to meet up with him. Then, finally, after a few months have gone by, arrange a date. Then, whilst he is waiting in the restuarant, you go ham with a sledge hammer on his Tiguan in the parking lot. Then send pictures of his D to his family, and co-workers.
Jirre you live in a dream world :ROFL:

And how would that work? They are just going to take the word of some random person claiming that one of their customers caused accident damage to their vehicle and they're going to write them a cheque? That's nice.

If they are insured…they have third party insurance.

And a third party can therefore claim against it.

It’s literally what third party insurance is. And comprehensive insurance is third party insurance and first party insurance all wrapped into one.

Have claimed directly against a third party without involving my own insurance twice.

It’s a pain in the ass and I don’t recommend it…just use your own insurer you pay good money to every month to do the work…but it’s certainly a thing.

They have entire departments dedicated to this.

I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. You cannot just call my insurance and tell them you are claiming against my policy and they just say “okay, here is the money”. They will tell you that I (the policy holder) have to open the claim because I am the one with a contract with them. Once I (the policy holder) have opened a claim, only then will they engage you (the 3rd party).

Otherwise what would stop anyone from getting random number plates then matching to ID numbers and claiming against those people’s insurance policies?
