Intel announced a refresh of their CPUs,

It is worth mentioning that they aren't comparing these to AMD's X3D lineup, and they only compared it to AMD's 9700X in creator benchmarks.

At least it is cheaper, and supposedly more efficient.

So, reviews pending.

They are really going to struggle.. At the kind of price point the AM4 5600 / AM5 7500X3D operates at.. it's a tough one to beat.
People are now much more reluctant to let their DDR4 platforms go, and anyone in the market who's trying to 'future proof' is going to build on their existing socket, which intel leaves behind every generation, it's pointless releasing a new processor when people can't buy memory to connect to it.

During Corona - I built a AMD 1600, with 16 Gig. RAM. It has served me well, and it is time to build a similar tier PC.

Which CPU with 32 Gig. RAM should I be looking at.

Thanks

A time machine, cause this is the worst time to try get a new pc. You'll pay oodles for ram

He can use ram again luckily due am4 uograde options he just need slot in new cpu
He could but 32gb would require 2 more sticks. I mean a 5700x3d if available would be a good upgrade

I am aware of the RAM issue, not much to be done for it, unfortunately.

Want to build a new box sorta same type of entry level as the 1600 was during Covid, using whatever is same class of CPU that us current today.

So after Googling - seems an amd 7500/7600 cpu, B850 motherboard, and 32 Gig RAM is what I need. With a 512 gig. SSD.

I would probably grab a 7800x3d for R6.6k (new or less on even less on AliExpress or 2nd hand) (new 7500Fs are R3.3k though)
DDR5 6000 for R5k (2nd hand, sometime R4-4.5k)
B650 Eagle (R2.7k new on Amazon, I mean it's risky, but it's a mobo)
9060xt (R8.5k new or 3080 2nd hand better)

Prices are good ...

Aliexpress, how does the shipping work?

Made a mistake 2060, not 2080.

Not bad even with a 4770k it did pretty okay. GPU runs hot and is a bit noisy, so needs to be a repaste and fan bearing cleaned. If that doesn't help, might just keep the 2060 in the backup system as is, even thought the 2060 is much faster than my 1660, it runs silent and cool.

The alternative is selling the 1660 and 2060 , add a bit and get 3070 on carb or save up some more sell the two cards and get a 5060 new for about 6500-6900 ish.

But honestly I should at min get a 10gig card. B580 is also an option. Will sleep on it. No rush, pity the card is loud, at least it works fine and have the RX 470 as back up card.

580 won't work with the 4770k.
What 2060 is it? A 2060 super at least? Plus check it doesn't use thermal pads not paste

Lol I just tested the card in the old back up system, wasn't going to test the card out on the main rig just now there is something wrong with the card considering it came all the way from france....not worth the risk

Stock standard 2060 6gig as far as I know. Will check GPUz quickly

Yeah looking at the screen shot it's the standard 6 gig. Sell both and get a 4060ti

It is this card, the fan bearings aren't great, don't have machine oil on hand, might help.

Will sleep on it, not sure I am in the mood for all the hassles and shipping, low balling carbies. Will repaste and clean the bearings and see if I can't get some machine oil for the bearings. Currently performance wise I don't need much more at the moment, development software works fine as is.

GPU pricing in SA is still fcked. I don't have time to deal with the low ballers.

If I get the B580 it will go in the main rig which is a 14400f

A little risky, but it's either SAPO or a last mile service SpeedAF/Melli.

Both will make you pay a little extra for customs. It should be 15% ish (sometimes 25%)
