I am having a parcel released now that I ordered in November last year.
They refused to ship it as they said that it contained a battery which they say prevented them. They asked for MSDS docs which I provided and then they couldn't understand how to read it. They also they refused to send the package back to the sender and said that I needed to use another courier to collect it. Constant threats that they were going to destroy the package etc.
Anyways, a long way down the line it's finally coming.
Top tip, if they assign Nomvuyo to you, ask for someone else. She has no idea what she is talking about and is just very arrogant. They only finally got sorted out when I started talking to other Aramex staff directly and side stepped her.
Learnt my lesson, going forward it will always be PostBox Courier.
You can get a refund of that fee if you're not happy and they'll close your account. It's a once off fee.

So I'm getting emails about shipment charges and missing invoices for my two most recent packages. One from the USA and one from the UK. None of them are showing up in "My Packages" when logging in, but they are on the Aramex system as I can track them.
Is this just happening to me, or anyone else having this problem?

Their site has so many gremlins, try opening your package page in incognito or private browsing and see if they reflect. Otherwise it'll probably correct itself after they open offices tomorrow.

I am already using it in incognito. That is the only way that I can actually click on anything without the whole site locking up for 10 minutes.
Okay hopefully it will sort itself out tomorrow, otherwise I will have to search my inbox for old email addresses of people that work at the SA office.
did you manage to sort your issue out?
I have an Amazon US order which just arrived in SA . Not sure if I should be worried from the comments.

Damn, reading the above I'm so glad I didn't use AGS when ordering from the USA this month. Used MyUS for the first time, ordered from eBay and from the time I placed the order until it arrived at my door it was +- 2 weeks, the longest wait was actually waiting for USPS to deliver the package at MyUS' warehouse in Florida. From there it was pretty much painless, and got 30% off my first shipping fee.

$32 with the DHL Express option, depends on size and weight of the shipment. Had multiple courier options, some were cheaper but I trust DHL Express so I went with them.

Example of how useless Aramex is. I am waiting for a parcel from Canada. I uploaded the invoice as usual.
The following dialog spans multiple emails.
Bulelwa : Kindy provide an invoice for this shipment <- nothing else. just this
Me : There is no reference in your email. Do you want the invoice for xxxxxxxxxx that is incoming from Canada?
Bulelwa : Here is the supplier number 420342499500111773166190905164
Me : Please tell me from which country it is coming or give me the 10 digit Aramex shipment number.
Bulelwa : Its coming from Florida

MyUS can also be slimy. Some years ago I had a coupon for a trial of their premium membership and so I took the 1 month and ordered two items from two different US based stores. They shipped it out but they charged me a monthly or annual fee for the premium mebership despite cancelling. Never got that back and had to cancel a second time. Slimy b/tards. Be warned.
That might have only been a system error, or something that was fixed soon thereafter.
Currently even with the free membership you get a 30% off voucher for shipping costs. There's also some coupon codes you can easily find online that will work for shipping, did a shipping request two days ago and got 15% off my shipping fees.
So far no real issues with them, much better than AGS, the only crap thing is the random item value they give each item, even if there is an included invoice with the purchased item, then you have to upload the same invoice and have someone manually review it and correct the value, this can sometimes cause a two day delay, other than that no issues. Shipping fees via DHL is a bitch though, but 100% worth it as their customs clearance has top priority and is super fast.
Good to know about vouchers. I usually search for vouchers when making digital purchases. Never thought of using them with MyUS.
Yes AGS can really mess you around for non standard stuff.
I'm not so sure MyUS had a glitch back then, they have a scummy bend to them with up-selling and not mentioning all costs upfront. Maybe that's changed but who knows.
They were also raided by the Feds some years ago, so if they're willing to cut corners there, who knows.
The best guys who do proper value declarations are Japanese forwarders, such as Buyee. Not all of them mind you, but Noppin, Buyee and Neokyo are very good here. Never had customs issues with them.
