I couldn't get hold of Meili but I am now trying to get hold of someone at Speedaf.

It sucks so much that you can't avoid them, I am considering stopping buying from Aliexpress.

I'm okay with paying R100 on a R200 or R300 value order, as most of the stuff I can't even get locally, but with the current parcel they want 79% for VAT and clearance. It makes no sense

I'd agree with a choice. Sometimes, I want it faster and would yield to a slightly higher price, other times its something I don't mind waiting for.

Technically, the import should be consistently applied between SAPO, and the only thing that should be different is Meili's cut of fees, which SHOULD be low, but since they dont even provide any breakdown of these fees..... Its anyone's guess what you are ACTUALLY paying.

Yeah have the app (Aramex Global Shopper) used it years ago when I bought a few items from best buy at the time it wa sthe cheapest and fastest assume it still is ?

I've used Buyee to import Pocky and such from Japan. AGS, maybe. Check their list of forbidden items.

3 working days is what takes my dhl.parcel leave hong kong and arrive in cpt and clear customs. Aramex can barely clear customs in 3 days

Tell us about the DHL shopping service and costs.

My seller from China just ship directly via DHL now , works out R200 more for me. But quicker I get stock the quicker I make money and supplier also get more sales.

Luckily stuff sell is pretty small so its like 1.5kg shipments that I use to do via aramex.

I shipped another item with DHL from japan around the same time and it arrived in my hands in 3 working days.

With DHL everything went smoothly, with aramex its always one F up after another. They already got the price of the goods wrong (they are listing at double what i paid) and still no update today, the items arrived at AGS on the 29th of Jan.

If anyone needs assistance shipping from overseas at a cheaper rate let me know.

I will use DHL for high value items and AGS for the rest.

Does anyone have contact details for a helpful Aramex person?

I purchased an order on Amazon.com on the 1st of Feb that was sent with Aramex. The order has been sitting at customs for a week for seemingly no reason. Honestly I'm wondering if it's even still there or if it's "fallen off the truck". Usually my previous orders with Amazon get cleared in a day or two max.

Amazon says it should deliver at the latest by Monday. I don't see that happening at all. I contacted Amarax yesterday on their website. They have some **** AI chatbot thing that was useless. Eventually I got a real person, but all they did was just read the current tracking information. They didn't seem to understand that the item has had 0 activity in over a week. I don't think that's normal.

In the past I had an issue where one of my items got stuck in customs, but it would get scanned every day with updates while it was sitting there. The zero activity thing is what is concerning me.
