Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

I think the changes broke something more it has now changed from Jhb outage to a national outage on the Afrihost app

We are still working on recovering the devices that are down, which are affecting the Afrihost website, DNS, DHCP and subscriber mapping.

At the start of the war room, we immediately rerouted all DNS to DBN and CPT to allow clients' services that were impacted by DNS being down. Unfortunately, DHCP remains down for now, and clients that are up should not reboot. We are actively working to recover the problematic devices to restore DHCP as a first priority to prevent further impact.

Clients might lose access before the outage is resolved as DHCP lease timers expire.

Sorry for the issues experienced. It's all hands on deck.

Is there any way to keep my ipv4 address? I am on a whitelist of allowed ips for one of our clients.

what happened to the plan to convert dhcp to pppoe (frogfoot)?
Hi.
There are plans to transition our fibre services from DHCP to PPPoE, but this is a long-term project and there is no confirmed rollout timeline at this stage. As you may have noticed, all new FNOs we are onboarding are already being deployed using PPPoE, with Frogfoot expected to follow in due course.

Is there a test group that can be joined?

@Afrigirl are we ever going to see data usage again on the CZ for Vuma trenched?

Hasn't worked in 2-3 years.
Hi.

Unfortunately, this is still the current position. Usage history on ClientZone isn't available for all Vuma Trenched lines because these services are provisioned via a bypass link that isn't integrated with ClientZone. We have followed up with our Development team, but there isn't an ETA to share at this stage.
