Hi, The same role as fibre or any medium realistically.Maybe a dumb question; but what role will your DNS servers play if we are using the G5TS router from you guys?
As far as i can find; you cant change the DNS servers on the G5TS, or am i missing something here?Hi, The same role as fibre or any medium realistically.
My DNS hasn't been changed and remained as it was on the ZTEHI there, our DNS servers are 154.0.1.1 & 154.0.1.10
We have on-net Google Caches to ensure that quick content delivery for things such as youtube
You will resolve to these CDN's if you use our DNS servers.
We also have Akamai, Apple, Valve and Netflix CDN's as well
When using other DNS servers, you may resolve to off-net/public CDN's that can be problematic at times.
You can also have youtube issues if you have any kind of issues with your line, such as packet loss.
Yeah it seems you are correct, one can't change it on the router. As far as i can find; you cant change the DNS servers on the G5TS, or am i missing something here?
Sorry, but not close to the router right now; maybe someone else can check.Yeah it seems you are correct, one can't change it on the router.
Does it give you the option on the DHCP server at all?
Yeah then it should be automatically issued as default.I already searched every setting on this router & did not find any DNS settings.

to confirm what your DNS servers in use areIpconfig /all
|||or|||
nslookup google.com
I have no performance issues at all. Just a nice-to-have to change the DNS on the router side.Yeah then it should be automatically issued as default.
If there is performance issues, it could then be related to something else like packet loss, latency, etc.
You can also make sure your device itself has the DNS configured, or default.
You can also use something like
to confirm what your DNS servers in use are

Hmm so then I believe the DNS is managed by the CGNAT AR , which should use ours anyways.I have no performance issues at all. Just a nice-to-have to change the DNS on the router side.
So am I currently using Vodacom DNS servers or Cool Ideas DNS servers? As the router is my current DNS resolver.
