MTN offers the highest voice quality on calls in South Africa

MyBroadband Insights recently released its 2026 Mobile Call Quality report, which revealed that MTN offered the best audio quality across the country.

MyBroadband Insights performed mobile call quality testing across South Africa, using Keysight Nemo equipment in partnership with Coral-i.

Not everyone has access to data or some areas are prone to bad connectivity when it comes to data, then traditional calls works. But I always knew for a while mtn is better than vodacom, I'm surprised how rain came up on the score....

Yeah, you're going from 4.4 to 4.51/5, that is going to be imperceptable for most (I'd be curious as to a recording of cellc one vs the others).

I'd also be curious as to the actual results and if you had outliers that pulled some down.
