The Rugby Thread - Part Deux

Someone here mentioned a career ending injury during this series. That could be a candidate
I did. But this isn't it. But yes, could be a candidate. I think Ardies is potentially worse. Dislocated shoulder 3-4 months, maybe longer.

A broken jaw is probably 6-8 weeks.

My concern was more for something like a ACL, which is 9 months to a year depending on severity etc

I think Richie Mo'unga will be in the team.

The All Blacks need to change 1 of 2 things : 1. Select players playing abroad or 2. Get key players (Retallick etc.) playing in NZ to make them eligible for selection.

This. I think we should acknowledge this does limit the AB's somewhat. Much like when had to have quota's.

I think about 50% of current Bok team/squad are overseas based?

Yup, and it was one thing when the best in the world (SA and NZ and.....Oz) were all playing Super Rugby together so the standard was really high. Now that SA have upped sticks and moved North, the NZ/Aus Super Rugby just doesn't give them that intensity of competition anymore.

Good point. That competition definitely helped them.

SA playing against those European teams with all their expensive imports also helps us, I reckon.

It does but to be honest other than Brodie, Richie and Shannon Frizell there's not much they're missing out on.
