Holy hell telkom really need to wake up . What a joke for a support line . My ADSL was synced but no connection kept getting error 678 even from telkom guest acc . Phoned 0800375375 number and waited 9HRS!!!!! b4 some dumbwit answered the phone . What a damn joke , omg these guys probably think good service is something you can spread on bread ?

Not only do they keep you holding for ages , 90% of the staff answering is totally clueless .

Been looking where to e-mail them and tell them what a ****ty support line they got but can't find any relevant e-mail adress , anyone got a idea ?

TimeMan, if I were you, rather go to a telkom direct shop and see a consultant face to face. They know who to phone to get your problem sorted fast. The support line number is simply a joke, as you have already stated. :)

Guys we know they bad but remember at the end of the day its the employer that has to train these individual`s.They too have a family to support and no i do not work for telkom

holly shark breath of oden!..to me their bad service is no suprise..what does suprise me is that some ladies are only discovering it now..hahaha

When I went there to sort out my problem (still not fixed by the way) they gave me the 0800 375 375 number and told me to phone...

Telkom shop is just as useless. :(

So did you actually sat with the phone in your hand for 9 hours???? I would have given up after 5 minutes.

I take it You've never gotten through then! Average wait time is just under an hour. I sat last night for 1:15.

Yep i actually put my phone on speaker phone and carried on working . I had to sort my adsl out as i had to get online to carry on with my work . And i knew if i put down and call again i'd get bumped to last in line holding for the support

Pfft, lucky you. The ones here either tell you to phone 0800 375 375, of if you kick up a stink, they phone it for you with you sitting there like an idiot.

I wait an average of about 1.5 hours for ADSL support... 9 hours is a bit hectic.

@RPM

Is it not possible to do a one on one interview with the person in charge of the call center 0800 dsl dsl to ask them what the issues are. Surely there must be a reason behind the long call waits. Ask them what is their plan of action or if they even acknowledge the problem.

You ask about a Telkom email address. Don't bother. If you listen carefully you can hear the virtual shredder they have connected to their email.

The long call waits probably shows their incompetency and the multitude of problems they have.

I had problems with websites etc and I e-mail them on [email protected]

They are generally quick on e-mail. Last time they responded within an hour. (that was about 3 weeks ago)

Yup.
I once went there, told the moron behind the desk to phone them, told him I was going shopping, demanded a ref# on my return, and left.
When I returned an hour later, he was still holding... I told him to call me on my cell with the ref#.

That's the worst number to phone ever.
I never get through.
*******s.

How the hell do u wait 9hrs for them to pick up? i wouldnt.
Take a note of downtime and claim money back once line is working again.
Also any errors on the exchange will probably be reported by somebody else.
So if u dont need access right away. not that ull get it right away neway, go out, have a beer, dinner, sleep it off... wait a day or two and all should be restored...
They are logging something like 100 000 faults a week, now think about the people taking the calls, they are just not prepared or skilled enough to handle them effeciently.
Dont blame support staff, its telkoms fault the queues are so high.
Tip - dont ask them for assistance and dont let them try give it to you.
Just tell them to log the fault and move on...

I hate telkom as much as anyone, but there is no point in complaining about their support, as this is common knowledge by now and its not gonna get better by repeating these posts.
