I am sitting at a client with the bloody Telkom song in my head "da da da da" blah blah blah thank you for holding, all I service consultants are still busy.....

I am sure we all now these bloody lines by now, I am on "hold" for 1hr and 45 minutes and nobody has assisted me yet, and why, cause there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

I would like to know what is the longest anybody has been on hold in the forum, this could get ugly, but probably interesting too.

And guys, dont lie, its not a competition, hehe.

I haven't been on hold for more than an hour, but for a number of times for a bit less than 1 hour.

After 30 minutes I usually get mighty grumpy.

Now, what I want to know from other technicians is who do you charge for this time? My hourly rate is R200 + VAT but why should my customer be penalized for Telkom's incompetence? On the other hand why should I lose income because Telkom is incompetent?

Well, there's no pills that my friend, I would much rather drive to a shopping center or petrol station and use a public Telkom phone to make the call, why waste your money like that?

Ive once been on hold for an hour, they eventually answered and the call dropped. . . Phoned back an was on hold for about 50mins
