Hiya guys
I have this amazing connection but on torrents im not getting what I need.
What other options are there to download things?
NZBs?

Would appreciate some advice, have always used torrents but obviously am not getting the max speed

Thanks

I had 1gbps connection at CISP for long time and torrents never reached very high speeds. NZBs was flying though. Seedbox was my only option for torrents and then transferring it from seedbox to my own pc was quicker than downloading the actual torrent on my own pc.

I went back to NZB's. A bit more management but full speed downloads and no exclusives.

how does a seedbox work?

real-debrid.com is probably the best option.

with public torrents you won't easily max a 1Gbps not in SA at least. On private torrents you can.

This is about what I get on public maybe a bit more sometimes.

could you maybe explain what you use and how?
There are a few different options but here is my setup. Total cost is $7 a month excluding internet.

Microserver (although any PC with some storage will do)
fastusenet.org account ($7 a month although they are running constant specials. If you are on Afrihost you can use their news server as well)
SABNZB to download
Sonarr to download TV series
Radarr to download movies.

I usually add movies when we get blessed with loadshedding. TV series I add as and when I see something interesting.

Remember to open ports when you torrent so more seeds can connect to you. Torrenting without ports is pointless.

Radarr
Sonarr
NZBGeek Account
Eweka Account
SABNZB

Sorted.

I get around 8.5MB/s download on my Telkom 2TB LTE.

use qbittorrent if you are using utorrent. A friend of mine on a 1gig connection could never reach full speed when he was using utorrent/bittorrent. Then he switched to qbittorrent and now he can get full speed

No. Stop downloading - i think we're connected to the same fibre distribution hub and I want all the bandwidth. Its mine! mine! :)

The cable breaks do affect torrents to a point, also since torrents are P2P, it depends on how fast the peer(s) upload speed is that you are downloading from.

I can max out my upload at 9.7MB/s if I am uploading multiple torrents to ~50 odd people, then once in awhile ill get a single peer from Germany using half of my upload speed.

Maybe DC++ will get you better speeds.
