10 Mbps uncapped ADSL service

So according to the FUP sliding scale ...

384 - in the poo if you're in the top 20%
4meg - in the poo if you're in the top 50%
10meg - in the poo if you're in the top 80% ???
 
Am I the only one who would quite like a full speed connection during business hours, and would be quite satisfied with slower uncapped connection after hours?

I don't plan to do a lot of torrenting, and that I do can be scheduled for off peak hours. But I do need a fast connection during the day, for business purposes.

As such, the SAINET 10GB + uncapped after hours sounds great. The only problem is that I hear that their latency is high, and their network in general is not so hot. Any comments?

Then buy a Business account. that is what they are there for.

lol, you people with the 10MB are ABUSERS!!!! You will soon feel the wrath of the 384kb owners for stealing their bandwith and degrading their network performance.
 
Well, hopefully the 10mbit user will push up the 50% "abuser" boundary a couple of gigs :D
 
Gosh thanks IS, so we can hit your top 50% faster and pay R899/month for 2400baud modem speeds? Where do I sign?

This new AUP that IS has introduced was the reason I dropped Axxess. With a 10MB line while other people are still on 4MB you're guaranteed to be in the top 20-50% if you do download stuff and why have an account that's uncapped after hours if you don't want to download large amounts of data? Massive screw up IMO and I won't go back till they return express+ to what it was.
 
OK, thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

I don't expect to download all that much in the evenings, so 100GB should probably be fine.
 
ye well the frikken problem is: if you are on a 4mb line & downloading constantly one can do about 700gigs in a month.. without the line problems of late.. eg seacom etc.
so what will one do on a 10mb line?? 1.5tb's???
so u pay for 1tb & only get 200gigs at most!! wtf, so much for the 1.5/gig pricing for the original uncapped accounts!!
i guess the isp's thought hey what the f we can charge more than that especially as we paying much less than what the customers were paying before!!!

ffs this ****ry is backwards!!!!

oh & for all you that think that a 384 line is the way to go.. most countries have a minimum of at least 10mb's so wake the f up & get with it people..
 
high capped accounts are the future 50GB / 100GB etc... for R 250 for 50GB :) I will be happy with that

Yeah, I don't mind a high capped account, but the emphasis is on the word "high". No use having a 10meg line (or even a one meg line) if you're limited to 10 or 20GB. I do 30 Gig / month after hours on a 512k line, so I reckon on a fast line, a minimum of 50 to 60GB per month is reasonable for a capped account. For the aforementioned R250 of course :)

Mweb is still enough for me. I don't need more than 4mb atm. This. I'm not even getting 10mbs speeds on my line atm so this is useless for me. and the whole thing about the top 20% users being shaped is a load of BS. I will stay with mweb and no other company is better atm. What will you ever download with a 10mb uncapped line?

nope axxess express + account as per thier SLA's with IS do fall under that shaddy IS thing they implememnted with the 20% and 50% mark

the same stuff but quicker? with that line of thinking you may as well downgrade to 384k as you will still be able to download the same stuff.

Actually that line of thinking is why I'm still on a 512k line. Latency bothers me more than speed, and I rarely have more than a gig or so of content that I want on any given day.
