Would these line stats suggest that my line supports 10mb? Or at least something a little faster than 4mb? I did run the number through the DSL checker (http://www2.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/check.htm), and it said "Maximum speed available in your area - 10Mbps (Copper)".

Upstream line rate (kbit/s) 512
Downstream line rate (kbit/s) 4096
Upstream maximum line rate (kbit/s) 864
Downstream maximum line rate (kbit/s) 11852
Upstream noise safety coefficient(SNR) (dB) 13
Downstream noise safety coefficient(SNR) (dB) 19.4
Upstream interleave depth 0
Downstream interleave depth 0
Line standard ADSL_G.dmt
Upstream line attenuation (dB) 19.5
Downstream line attenuation (dB) 34.5
Upstream output power (dBmV) 10
Downstream output power (dBmV) 7.9

I only ask, because the last time I phoned telkom (early May) and asked for an upgrade, they mentioned that it wasn't possible according to the info on their system.

Is it possible that 10mb is technically supported, but hasn't been enabled at the exchange?

"telkomZA"

and ask him to upgrad you
your line will go to the max stable it can get
like 6/8/10mb

im stuck on 8,sue to distance from exchange, and your closer to it than me,so 8/10 should be possable for you :)

Your line stats are fine and should be able to handle 10Mbps easy.... You are still running on G.Dmt mode which if your dslam supports 10Mbsp or higher you most likely would need a port change which can take a day or two for the technician to change your port.
