123NET Fibre

Well I'm just waiting for 123Net to either get here or for prices to fall. Even if someone decides to roll out here tomorrow I won't be able to afford it so I might as well wait for things to go their natural way. There's no incentive to campaign for fiber any more.

i keep seeing there vans around the umhlanga area. Trying to get hold of them is impossible...

I live in Umhlanga. I filled in a form on their site one Sunday evening after waiting almost 5 weeks for MWeb to just give me an expected installation date. Guy from 123net phoned me at 09:00 on Monday morning to find out if I'm at home so they can come and check out what the installation effort is going to be. I was at work already so arranged to meet them at 09:00 on Tue morning. He rang my doorbell at almost exactly 09:00 on Tue. He looked around a bit and when I asked him how long installation would take, he said... wait for it... "about 2-3 hours". He then showed me outside our complex wall that they had already dug a trench half way to my property. I was on a 1GB Local/10Mb International fibre connection for R799 month-to-month just after lunch the same day.
