128k PPTP Service to avoid Cap.

ASS_SAZiN : When you get capped you will not get fined or billed - your international connection will be routed through a different connection and will be considerably slower - in my experience the different connection speed is so slow I basically consider myself to have zero international connection.

savage : I called Megalan weeks ago, left them my e-mail add and have recieve nothing, no feedback, no confirmation Megalan has my e-mail address or anything. I suggest Megalan e-mail all those who have called and left thier e-mail adds just to let them know Megalan got the e-mail address correctly. Also what user/64k line ratio are Megalan planning to use?

There was about 3 or 4 emails that bounced.
- Mailbox Quotas Exceeded
- Mail Server's that didn't like our email
- Incorrect Email Addresses,
etc.

The application form will be available for download on our web site shortly.

I got the Megalan application emailed to me on Friday, so life is looking great.

Savage: Perhaps I could ask this question on the forum for the benefit of all. What connection ratio's will you guys implement, and what will the impact be performance wise?

This is my concern: I would like to use my internet connection for online gaming (mmporg mostly). So while I don't require blazingly fast latency (ping times), it must be consistant - without the timeouts and lag experienced on Telkoms oversubscribed DSL link, even while uncapped.

Throughput (bandwidth) is not too much of a concern, on my last test I used about 30mb total over 4 hours, which averages out to about 2k/sec sustained transfer necessary for realtime play. Again, while this is a small amount of throughput, it MUST be consistant (no periods of zero inactivity) for smooth gameplay.

Could you share your thoughts on this one? Am really looking forward to an international solution at last.

I very much want to sign up with Megalan, but they won't answer their phone!!! Does anyone have their order form to email to me?

(Methinks this may not be a good idea if the company doesn't even answer their main 086 telephone number)

just wondering... whats the difference between a 56k async line and a 64 sync line?

thought megalan would be cool, but i still dont have my static ip and the service is so unstable and they dont reply to my emails
