All the numbers I have received up to now have been forwarded to Virgin Mobile. Only 15 numbers so far.

Please reply here when you receive your sims.

Did you get mine?

Hey Piesang, will we be contacted regarding our sims, or should we check our post boxes? I live in a small town, on a farm (and I've got adsl ), I doubt they'd deliver it to my door ?'

Lol!, deleted my post by mistake!

I'm not 100% sure. They did phone me yesterday and asked for my delivery address. It was sent today with overnight delivery so I should get mine tomorrow.

I tell you what, if you don't hear anything from them by tomorrow afternoon send me a pm and I will find out whats going on. Not that I can do much but at least I can contact them personally to find out.

Hi, we have a idea that the Vodafone HSDPA card is Network Locked. That's why it won't work. Have you tried a MTN or Cell-C sim card in your Vodafone card?

No they're not locked. I'm using an MTN sim in mine. It also detects the Cell-c network, just won't connect [with the 64k sim that is].

I just spoke to a lady called Carmen. Very helpfull indead. She said that they are experiencing problems with the 64K sims and that everyone who have problems with their sims will get a new 128K sim. Unfortunately the only way of them finding out who you are is if you complain.

So I'll sugggest that you all maybe post your Virgin Mobile phone number here. They have all your details so then they will be able to know who you are.
If you don't want to give you number here you can e-mail it to [email protected] or PM me your number.

They will then let us know where to pick it up or maybe even courier it to us.

Please guys, they are doing their best.

Ummm...sorry I'm a bit confused here! All cards are 64k so are they all faulty?

Besides, Virgin KNOW who you are because they needed everyone's ID number and cell number to buy the starter pack in the first place. Is this your e-mail <[email protected]>. Why not send them direct to [email protected] so you know it is ligit.

Flame me if you like but this is an ODD arrangement.

I am thinhing to buying a VM starter pack, will I get the 64K or th 128 K one

The cards are not faulty. It's just if you want to use it in Data Cards that you will have a problem. There is also a issue with some phones. If your card works then it's fine. Then you don't have to get a new one.

Yes, Virgin does know who you are and they got your details but how will they know you have a problem? The e-mail is mine, yes. I spoke to Gerald, Carmen and Darlington at Virgin Mobile and told them what I was going to do and they thought it was a great idea. Do you know how many e-mails they are going to receive if everyone has got their e-mail addresses? So I take all the numbers, with the problem you are experiencing, forward it to them and they do the rest.

If you don't think it's ligit, well fine. Dial 123 from your vm phone and do everything yourself. It's just going to be faster through me.

Vodacom and MTN has got vodacom3g and MTN Data Dude who deal with everyones problems. Until Virgin Mobile has got someone that can be on the MYADSL forum I'll try my best to help.

I'm just doing all you guys a favor, this is not my job.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. Ask some of the other guys who received a call from Virgin Mobile and whose new sim card is on it's way.

If you want to use it in a Data Card it's better to let me find out tomorrow. If you only going to use it to make calls, sms, mms then its fine.

Hi there

I can't really say. I think MTN will also lock their data cards. The thing is like vodacom3g stated in one of the vodacom threads that the ISP subsidise the phone/datacard because they know they will make the money back through usage. I'm sure you know that if you add the 24months subscription costs for a contract it's not enough to even pay for the handset/datacard. So they will have to prevent loosing any money. The best way of preventing that is to lock the devices.

So maybe MTN will do that as well. But I can't really say. If you want you could ask MTN Data Dude on the MTN forum.
