I can hear Miriam Makeba followed by the Balketoe Boereorkes :D

But I do agree - local talent needs more support!
How about IVR options to change the on hold music to something else - have about 15 or 20 to chose from - that way Vodacom's customers can amuse themselves whilst on hold by changing what they're listening to? :D

As an extension of this idea, vodacom4me.co.za could offer a page that allows customers to specify what they do and/or do not want to listen to [from a list of available options] :).

Yes, they could do all of the above ... but would they? :D

Ah well, some Prime Circle will go down very well... followed by some NutCracker / Swan Lake;)

Well we are back to square one, can barely stay connected long enough to type a reply.

Connection with mail server times out, disconnects time and again, low or no throughput. Can't even download a Excel attachment from Gmail, after 5 attempts I only got 180kb of 214kb ....... eish !

Paying premium rates for patchy best effort service.

To top it all I find myself listening to Pet Shop Boys again, I guess for them it truely is a case of "I don't know what you want, but I can't give it anymore".

Really, and just the other day I was listening to 'You can't touch this" nah nah nah "You can't touch this" nah nah nah

Anyone know what the number is to phone for upgrades????
Since it has been a week now and I still have not received my 111 / 155 callback. And yes, I did follow the instructions as indicated here

You can't be serious, is the PSB song back? On which number? 155?

Was supposed to be replaced by the BSB

BSB???

V3G do you know what the direct upgrade contact number is to find out about contract upgrades for new cell phones?
I think it start with 10***, 5 digit number.

Yes the PSB song is back ... I don't think it ever went anywhere. I still get it each time I call 155 :) eeekk !!!! Come on Voda change that tune ... try DELETE it might just work.

There's a whole bunch of engines, probably they missed it on one of them. They are looking into it at the moment.

When I call I get the Back Street Boys.

Sounds like changing the caller tunes is a major undertaking. Did they have to employ consultants to get it done?;)

Seems like they found the PSB's still lurking in the Call-Back section (how's that for karma!) and hopefully they've now been evicted.

Feedback?

It is not that I dislike the PSB, but after listening to it for 15 to 20 minutes the song title starts to get a bit insulting.

I am sure Neil Tennant is not loosing any sleep over it.

Guess it would be difficult to keep everyone happy.

If it is gonna be Back Street Boys then I will rather suffer in silence ...... or I will call in the morning when I need a bowel movement.

Drat ! Had to reconnect just to send this .....

Another "serious commentary on communication affairs" by Skeptik and in line with Skeptik's call that the forum should only tolerate posts that ensure it is taken seriously.

Clearly you didn't spot the ;)
I imagine working for Vodacom doesn't enhance one's sense of humour.

[BTW, we can see through your disguise. It must be very handy speaking your mind using a temporary 5 post ID.]

And since you ask. It was a commentary on communications affairs, though not as serious as most. My point, though somewhat veiled, was that Vodacom gets the very basic, obvious things wrong. In reality, these are very easy to address. It just takes will. If the aim was to replace PSB with something 'fresh' and PSB is still there, then clearly little testing was done. Surely you don't argue that I shouldn't comment about that. This is not the North Korean news station?;)

And your commentaries are always serious, not to mention very even-handed as you suggested, to ic, all posts should be.

Going through your posts it's clear you make very sure you comment equally on all service provides, Telkom, MTN, CellC, Virgin, IBurst and Sentech.

You would not want to be accused of being biased and only post negative comments in the forums of the SP's of whom you're not a client?

You're very much off-topic and off-base, not to mention completely wrong. (Please pm me if you wish to continue.)
