The zone cleanup is....ok. But you have to drag an area then it cleans that. I didn't want that. I wanted to use those predefined rooms.

And you could create all these buttons....

Anyways you will notice, I have that custom clean button. Thats cool. When you click on that, it calls a script called script.clean_room, which requires inputs, and so, it looks like this in the UI when you call it:

Choose your mode (mop should be sweep+clean) and the room, and it goes. The script is set to queued, so it should in theory queue the room cleaning if you run it more than once.

This is, apart from the automations that start the scheduled cleanings.
Is that Nkandla palace?

Not sure someone already mentioned it but the dreame brand is part of Xiaomi and some of the vacuums are the same models

@SauRoNZA Feeding back.

So far Moptimus Grime has done two runs of the house without setting off the alarm. So for our alarm system ( a now old DSC PC585 smartified via an ESP32 ) at least, no hassles

We need a thread for names, love it.

My wife has named the robovac "wall-e", like an unborn child, she already had the name years ago and is still not aware that she is getting her robovac this Christmas.

Meant to post this here and somehow ended up in some other robot vacuum thread so now I’m double posting.

This X20+ is on a whole other level compared to the non-Lidar unit I had before.

It did a quick scan of the house which means no vacuuming just runs around to build a map and then got 95% of it.

Now it’s doing its full first proper clean after a charge and I haven’t heard/seen it do the bump into things move even once.

I see there is an option to enabled it to be more hardcore and do that but I’ll leave it alone for now.

Water Level 2/3 seem unnecessarily heavy on water so just moved it down to Level 1.

Purposely left a lot of stuff laying about including some cords and it’s yet to moan and tell me it’s stuck.

So far very impressed.

One thing I didn’t realise is that it has a disposable bag, which I’m sure you can re-use a few times with some effort, just like I do with my Karcher vacuum.

But it raises the question where’s the best place to source replacement parts and maintenance items?

Logical answer is Xiaomi directly, but I just know someone here will have a trust sourced with better prices.

Have you seen the price of that bag for the x10/20?

I still want to test if the older xiaomi mop bag fits on the x20 because it's much cheaper, but I can't tell what the difference is from the images from the internet

There seems to be a smaller 2.5L bag on the X20 and the other one is 4L.

It didn’t seem crazy to me and you get 5 in a set.

Not any worse than Karcher.

But I would still empty it out myself a few times before replacing.

The S20 is also rather impressive, cannot believe how clean our floors are tonight. My wife is over the moon and already planning to get a second one for our beach house (this was supposed to be for the beach house but now she wants to keep it at home).

The initial mapping of the house it was like watching a bumper car. What I have learned is that my house is not robovac friendly, too much crap on the floors, too much furniture not high enough for the vac to go under and just too many furniture legs sticking out.

Over the next few days we are going to raise the height of our furniture by a few cm, remove clutter and rearrange some furniture.

We did a vacuum run and then a second mop run. Takes an hour each time, and on the mop run, we are very impressed at the results, better than expected. The tank is only 270 ml but it mopped over 58m2 according to app with about 100 ml water still left.

To say the least the mopping of the x20 is excellent, even with just plain water.

Check how this spot around the couch leg however look

Will have to consider to maybe once a month moving couches to get a complete clean. Baby is keeping is busy.

I wonder if turning on the bumper mode would alleviate that.
