2 Fibre connections at same location

What are the connection limits of the different FNOs? I know @cavedog said that with openserve with each lan port on your ONT you can have a different package. What's Vumatel and/or Octotels limit theoretically speaking if it even is possible.

Vumatel is tricky because each installation needs it's own address so you would need to create a premises for a second line.
 
Anyone know if Octotel offers the 2 seperate lines to one address? im about 2 months away from my current contract ending and really want to move towards fibre
 
So fibre is gong live at our address I am hoping soon. We are in a similar situation, living in the granny flat / house at the back. We are going to be sharing the connection 50/50 to get a better line speed and save costs.

However, this will require a boost in signal. The properties are fairly close together so shouldn't be too much of an issue. What would you tech guys here recommend? We have a Huawei B315 router that can be used to boost the signal, or would an actual wifi booster be a better option? And if so, any recommendations?

Agree.. Also tried the wireless booster thing about 10 years ago... after a month I gave up, cause it was so unstable, quite a waste.

Replaced it with some outdoor quality ethernet and a few pvc pipes, running along the house, got the gardener to help me, and perfect. 10 years later, the network cable still works fine.

I learned the hard way... Bought a Powerline adapter only to find out that it's pretty useless if the wall sockets are on different circuits. Tried a wireless repeater, only to find that my bandwith was cut in half. :unsure:

Eventually bought a network cable. Got my lazy ass inside the attic/ceiling, faced a jungle of cobwebs, spiders and other nasty ceiling creatures and emerged triumphantly with a semi-decent network cable setup...:cool:

Yep - repeaters bareley solve 1 problem but bring in a host of others.

I used Powerline and it worked ok but i needed 2 to get decent coverage so with main router i had 3 AP's and also no coverage when no power - when I got my lazy ass to crimp cables and run the cable through the conduits without fish tape (solid concrete roof so no ceiling to crawl through) - coverage of the 2 Main router and New AP was much better and both work on back up power when needed.

Problem is the cable is going to run outside between 2 houses. There's no way to get it across without it becoming the pigoen sh*tting post and it's a matter of when, not if, the lawnmower gets involved.

A wireless solution would be the preferred option.

Weird. All you need is a shovel and a few lengths of 25mm conduit. Shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred Rands.
