2 Terrabyte hard drive

yeah, also looking to obtain best price, anyone know what dealer cost price at DCC is ?

At least it's not a Seagate, imagine the data recovery problems in a 2 TB drive :D

Nope, He is confusing TerraByte with GigaByte ! ! ! 2TB is a really huge amount of storage. And I meant REALLY HUGE ! For people like me who got introduced to computers in the late '70s early '80s, everything measured in TB is SciFi. I simply refuse to belive/accept, something like this can be build in my life time. Who are this people anyway? And please refrain commenting on my post / ignore it, - if you are not involved in electronic engineering or a closely related job. The Reason: You don't really know what's going on, to begin with.

Right on! It's absolutely boggling. Especially when I remember buying my first 10MB (yes, megabyte) 5.25-inch full height external HDD for R5300 in 1984. That's in then's money, which is over R40,000 in today's money. SO a coupla grand for 2TB is a bargain that still makes me wince and whoop.

I'm more eager to see the prices drop on the 1TB and 500gigs...

I've been looking through some price lists.
I cannot see a single or 2TB SD Card on any of them.

Biggest is 32GB but most makes have 16GB.

Again, keep in mind that this is spec at this point—not an actual product. But we could see something based on it as early as next year.

Of course, you can’t buy a 2TB card right now.

The current maximum capacity for an SDHC (High Capacity) card is 32GB.

I do. My father imported a 1GB drive from Germany in the 80's for the SAPS. They stored the entire countries fingerprints on it. It was the biggest It deal Africa had ever seen.

But now I use about 4TB on my pc ;)
