yea merc its a sad state of affairs

i look at united as an example of keeping a manager
he has taken united and made them what they are over 21 years

look at moyes and how well he is doing with everton, 6 or 7 years

arsene wenger has done well 2 although im starting to have my doubt with him being a good manager, what with all the buying and selling he does

sven should be given a nice blank cheque and another season atleast, i mean he has not done that badly if you ask me

Exactly. Now imagine if United's management had to adopt the same policy...Ferguson would've been gone a long time ago. They need to have patience.

8 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if bolton could have given him some money to spend he could have taken bolton in the top 5 :( but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

One couldn't agree more. The managers aren't given a decent chance. ie: Big Sam at Newcastle. I think Jol was another who faced this dilemma.

I think Newcastle should never have fired Bobby Robson. He took Newcastle to the upper part of the table. It's sad really. We all know how their stupid decisions come to haunt them. Classic case - David O' Leary who used to manage Leeds. He did wonders for the club; they fired him, and look where they are now. What's it? 3rd division?

Umm I dont know how much you truly know about leeds united but their woe's are as a result of financial disaster not so much managerial dispute...

true, they were in huge financial trouble, couldnt pay back loans ( i think ).

jsheed that financial disaster was blamed on o leary

they said he bought expensive low quality players and when they went down thats when the kuk started

leeds should never have gone down, that is one most shocking relegation moments since i started watching footie

As I remember it they went into liquidation at the end of the season, so that when they got their 10 point deduction it wouldn't matter as they were at the bottom of the table anywayz, this was breaking FA law regarding clubs going into liquidation.

They got another 15 points deducted in the new season, despite this they are still in a play-off spot to be promoted. We will see them soon again in the EPL.

Fact is leeds united only went down when they failed to qualify for champions league and thus lost the tv rights monies that would have covered the loan - they then sold one rio ferdinand to man united and johnathon woodgate went somewhere else (cant remember atm) - they spent a lot of money to try guarantee champ league football and o'leary fell short - without champ league they couldnt repay the loan.... - the fact remains o leary was manager at that stage and failed to get champ league entrance and thus money the club needed badly - they didnt drop because of him being a crappy manager - he did well but they needed that champ league. - o leary did wonders for leeds uniteds pocket mercurial - J

In my brain although im sure wiki could give you better info wrt where players went - cantona/ferdinand/woodgate/boyer all played for leeds they had a wonder team at one stage - much like west ham utd.

i never said they dropped because he was a bad manager

the whole leeds thing been placed on his head because he bought big and never delivered which is bad management, if you spend big u need to deliver and failure to do so lies with the manager

even without those big names players they still had a pretty decent team

Hmmm according to wiki Burridge is 3 years younger than my old man so maybe he will know him who knows.
