then do pray tell that its the day of the Protea and Sprinbok this coming Wednesday!:D

Well, following past form and JK8's theory: The Proteas will play out of their skins on Wednesday, beating a rampant Australia in an amazing display of grit and cricketing mastery. With either NZ or SL to beat in the final on a friendly pitch, they will find some pitiful*, humiliating** way of throwing the match down the drain. Remember the final is on a <sfx class="ominous_chords">Saturday</sfx>.

*WC 2003
** WC 1999

meditate meditate ram ram

aus will bat first and indeed be 20/3 before recovering to 274/8 after 50 (so due a bad day)

after a extremely nerve-wracking run chase SA will get there with 4 balls to spare and 7 down

taking NZ down by 53 runs in the final will almost be an anti-climax

the stuff that dreams are made of...

GO SA GO!!!:D

Breaking news - biffy and AB injured and they out of action for the next 3 months. Sorry guys, but thats really bad news. Oh, more breaking news - kallis has developed a really bad rash due to using to much sanex, u guys are in big trouble now, looks like your coach will have to do some batting and im not sure who the other 2 replacement batters will be. Best u just come home so that i can greet u with my rotting box of tomatoes at the airport. lol

The problem with our batting this time is that the middle order Prince, Kemp have done almost nothing. Because of the way that AB and smith go at the ball, they are going to be a bit hit and miss. The majority of the time they have "hit" but when they have missed, there has been nothing after Kallis except the odd cameo from Boucher and a bit of help from Polly and Prince. It should never get to Polly and Boucher unless there are only 10 overs left or if we are trying to up the rate etc.

Hussy and Hodge have not had any batting of note yet and that could just come back and haunt the Aussies. With Hall, Nel, Langeveld and Polly in the side and with the way Gilly and Hayden play, you could easily find Aus 20/3. That will be the test for the Aus lower order. I would prefer to see us bat first and put Aus under pressure.

I think prince has done 'ok' not excellent but ok for a nudger of the ball. Problem is this the lower order batsmen that SA squad have relied on heavily have not performed when put to the sword so to speak. Look at the games we lost when batting 2nd, all of them were where the likes of boucher, kemp, polly, hall, and prince did not perform well. Prince has scored some runs recently, boucher improved too, but the rest have not. And thats what usually gives the team the sting in their batting order tail.

The one thing to remember about those stats is that we've played one more game than the Aussies.

yup

we have played on kuk wickets the aussies have not

Can't deny that, I am dissapointed the aussies yet again have gotten off lightly and played on better pitches that perhaps are better suiting? I'd have liked to see SL play thing on the same pitch SA team had. The Nz game was just sucky, hopefully something like that doesn't happen in the remaining games.

I'm sticking my neck out and going for a SL and OZ final.

Depends on the pitch with Nz-SL game. I think off hand Nz will take it but it has rained out 3 of the initial group stage matches there..

Interesting, boodles. In fact I was just reading here about how Nathan Bracken may be out for six weeks due to an injury he picked up while putting his alice band in place. Coincidentally, Ponting's face has grown completely over his eyes, obscuring his vision. I'm sure we all wish them a speedy recovery.

You forgot AB's 4 ducks in a world cup. Crazy thing is that he is still 8th on the standings.

Who's that standing next to Hayden in the photo? Bracken?

Pretty quickly reeled in as well. I caught a 82.8KG Yellowfin Tuna 90 miles from Gordons Bay just over a year ago. Gave me a 1H45 minute fight and stuffed me up for 2 days. Got my name in the record books at Grodons Bay Fishing Club.

You don't get fresher Tuna than that though.

hayden is due for a very low score

im actually upset ab got runs because it means he wont now :(

hopefully if smith and ab can get going sets up a good plate to work from

if they go cheaply i fear we will loose

everything depends on either of them to get fast runs
