No it has nothing to do with Aus, just my little superstition. Theres no bases as race cant really determine anything, but just still a superstition.
Ahh, ok. Don't get me wrong, I think there are a lot of countries that would not be playing cricket if it were not for the Indians staying in those countries. They have really spread cricket across the world. Without the Indian passion for the game, we would probably still be sitting with 8 cricket playing countries.

And much lower TV ratings, maybe thats why SABC bought the rights to broadcast the India and Paki games.
Lol you notice how many times they advertise Eastern Mosaic during the ad breaks when they showing cricket??:p

Far too long. They need to can the first rounds part and only have the super 8. Super 8 qualifications can take place over a 6 month period before the world cup as little mini tournaments around the world. Take a couple of tri-nations like the Aus one and add an extra couple of teams. Make the top 3 qualify. Have a couple more smaller events and then have the WC proper with the qualifiers. Along the lines of the WC football.

I think they should can the super eights. Make it like football or rugby or anything else: group stage then knockouts to the final. At least that way each game has a meaning, and you can't afford to lose more than one game (in the group stage) on the way to the final.

7 weeks to whittle it down from 16 teams to 1 is ridiculous.

But anyway, Aus won the toss and will bat first. Shane Watson back for Aus, Shane Bond out for NZ.

You know whats funny, only us SA people know the rivalry between Aus and SA, if you go to international cricket forums, every countries think theres a rivalry between them and Aus. Its funny I mentioned SA vs Aus rivalry and they taught Im talking crap! They also have their own back up with close matches etc etc.
Non of them even considered SA a favourite to win the WC and they very knowledgeable cricket fans.... And No its not a India, Paki forum.

A gem from Cricinfo

Sen Saba from USA sends this chuckle across. "where does all this aggression comes from for the aussie batsmen? were they not
hugged enough as kids? damn it aussie moms..show ur kids some love..the other teams need their chances too."

Australia are awesome... all you patriots must see the realistic side of it - i.e. Australia are going to beat us :D

Hence my reasoning, SL have the best bowling attack and Aus have not played against them yet, SL batting sucks a bit, but so does Aus bowling. SL can still take this WC.

JK8 is correct about the rivalry. If u look back over the last 13 years or so sa havent won much in the way of odi series against oz, and sa have not won any test series against oz since 94. So u must ask yourself, where is the rivalry when oz always win. So the more sa can compete with consistancy with oz, the better. The Aussie public love a good close game, and they applaud cricketers whom play well, no matter which country they from.

Yip!! Guys like Warne and Ponting can afford to be so arrogant coz of their reputation, Smithy on the other hand has to build one before he can run his mouth of.
Also the I hate when Smith never congratulates the other side, he always says oooh we just had a bad day. Ponting on the otherhand says they been outplayed when they lose.
